    Cory’s randomly dying

I don’t have any pictures I remove the dead fish immediately when I see it but all my fish will look fine at night then I wake up in the morning and ones just dead. No symptoms like bloating, lethargy, all were eating fine. I do about 1/4 water change every week to two weeks and vaccum the...

    Cory’s randomly dying

My Cory’s are randomly dying this week, no signs of illness or anything, my water perimeters are all where they should be the temperature is set at 77. The tetras and otocats in my tank are all thriving. I’ve had the Cory’s for five months and within two days have lost three. Not sure what the...

    Nutrifin cycle looks like mould

Thank you for your reply, very helpful information. However I am in Canada and haven’t been able to find dr Tim’s anywhere. I have used nutrafin cycle for years when cycling tanks, not sure if it’s ever helped at all but I’ve never had it cause a problem or negative affect in anyway. Since I’ve...

    Nutrifin cycle looks like mould

I’m cycling a new tank and added in some nutrifin cycle to help with some good bacteria. I’ve used cycle many times in the past and have never seen anything strange but I just bought a new bottle and it came out with cloudy chucks almost looking like mould. Is this bottle bad? It was sealed and...

    Hard water? Low ph?

Just concerned if there’s any consequences in this long term. Yeah they’re doing great right now but down the road will this affect their health and longevity

    Hard water? Low ph?

Just looking for some insight… my fish are thriving but I ran some tests and noticed I have very hard water around 200-300ppm (GH) but also fairly acidic water 6.8. In both my tetra and betta tank. I did some research on how to lower the GH but it seems like lowering the gh also lowers the pH...

    Neon Tetra help

Water parameters are all good. The GH is slightly on the hard side. Water is set and monitored at 77f. No other fish have been affected or show any symptoms of illness or disease. I think if it was “contagious” other fish would have been affected by now as he’s been like this for about 3-4...

    Neon Tetra help

I’ve had some neons for 2-3 years now and one of them developed a quite crooked spine about 3 months ago. It doesn’t affect his swimming eating or behaviour and is doing perfectly other than a very crooked spine, is this just “ old age”?
