Funny, the other day I was watching an aquascape video on BucePlant's YT page, and I had an epiphany... In many instances, people do planting BEFORE ADDING WATER!!!! Granted, this particular video didn't have any stem plants.

1) I USUALLY change maybe 1/2 the water every month or so... they are all small tanks so it is usually easy 2) these buce plants have mostly been in there over 4-5 months... attached to rocks or wood 3) RE: gravel cleaners... the two little tanks with fish do NOT have any plants planted IN...

OK, so the other day I decided Betsy the betta (in Tank #1) NEEDED her gravel cleaned. So for her health and happiness I rinsed out the fish/snail poo and kept about half the original water. I didn't rinse out the sponge filter. Everything went back in the tank. Sure LOOKED better! Thing is...

I like that fish meme... my tiny shrimp seem to like that activity as well!!! As for wrapping stems with foam, just like some come from sellers, I thought that was a no-no! Figured it would cause the stems to rot.

OK, I just repositioned the plants in question, and they WERE a bit easier to plant now that there's some more substrate in the tank. I really didn't have to add much, either. I guess I didn't have to drive and get another bag of Flourite after all...

Baby shrimp keep showing up, even though I rarely see the adult females! I managed to take a few decent pics just now. Bleepity algae on the glass usually gets in the way...

The problem was the pads wouldn't slide into the bracket. The ends were a smidge too long. Thankfully the caliper was the easy part.
