  1. The Big Figfetti

    Possible ich threat

Posting an update and a question. Today is day 11 since starting the temperature increase. They have been doing great at 87 to 89 degrees. It’s been 2 days with zero signs of spots. Would it be ok to keep them in here longer than 2 weeks or is that just unnecessary overkill? And once I’m...
  2. The Big Figfetti

    Possible ich threat

I’ve kept the tank at 86 to 87 degrees and I’m noticing a lot more spots on them today. Is this fine? I’ve added an air stone and they seem to be stable.
  3. The Big Figfetti

    Possible ich threat

Should I do a water change every day? Or am I just concerned with the ammonia, Nitrite/Nitrate? I will be testing daily.
  4. The Big Figfetti

    Possible ich threat

I’m not overly concerned, but will that temp kill the frogbit, duckweed, and beneficial bacteria?
  5. The Big Figfetti

    Possible ich threat

I appreciate the quick responses from you both. I will keep the temp up for 2 weeks.

Thank you! The white spots are hard to see the difference from the regular spots on the fins. But the pic where you can see it on the black is what makes me worry.

    Possible ich threat

I purchased 2 rams from my LFS and had them in quarantine to watch them. I decided they looked and we’re acting ok and put them in my main tank. Within 15 minutes, I noticed one of them twitch a few times and the other one had white spots that I hadn’t seen there before. The shop treats for...

Appreciate any help. What is this?

Thank you both. I will be sure not to introduce them to the tank.

Appreciate any help. What is this?

OMG! Like, gonna suck the blood from my fish, leech leech??? I was hoping they were some kind of beneficial substrate worm 😭
  14. The Big Figfetti

Appreciate any help. What is this?

I bought some black worms and I see a few of these in the bag. Are they harmful? Anyone know what they could be? They move like someone doing the worm dance move, while keeping its head sucked into the bag.

    Figgy’s Playland

It’s been 2 months since my last update, so I thought I would post some pics. The tank has had 1 water change in that time, about 25%, while doing some plant trimmings. No ferts added. Filter is only bio rings, and it’s flowing at a drip speed. I think I want to take it off, but I want to use it...

    Peacock gudgeon breeding?

Just wanted to give an update. My first male has been tucked away in his cave for about 10 days. He just came out yesterday and ate, so I knew I should be on the lookout for some fry. I didn’t see them until this morning. I believe there are only 4 that made it safely up to the top of the water...

    Driftwood film

Hey just wanted to share an update. The gudgeons are eating the white fuzzy stuff that’s growing! At first it started when the male was fixing up his cave, but now all of them are seen grazing it. Here’s a little clip.

This is the whole tank. I’m still trying to get a pic with good lighting. It’s not hazy like this in person. 🫠

    Peacock gudgeon breeding?

Am I able to upload videos? I have a few of the ‘love shack building’ behavior. 😂 I’ve been watching the tank for the last 3 hours! And I’ve witnessed the male (the second one, that didn’t have a female yet), create his cave. He cleaned the outside of it. He went in and fanned sand out of it...
