i was thinking the same thing as i was in Maidenhead aquatics and they said he wouldn’t put cichlids in my tank he said to move them to my 125 and then use the 450l tank for them. I want a large community in my tank so was looking at Bolivian and electric blue ram as they are from the same area.

the tank is 151 x 55 x 60 I was going for a large communal tank i don't want fish conflicts.

i have a pair of kirbensiss and i do like the double red apistogram. I was advised not to get cichlid like the firemouth as they will be aggressive in my tank. I do like cichlid tho i have tetras and gourami at the moment with 2 African shrimp.

I used api quick start and ran the filter for 3 days then tested the tank to make sure the gh and ph was all safe before adding fish. the tank its self is clear from the front but slightly cloudy from the side. I have 6 neon tetras and 2 African shrimp in a 450L tank.

the test stripe don't have an ammonia result but the tank is well under stocked for the size of the tank. no3 - 0 no2 - 0 ph 7.0-7.5 kh 80-120 gh 120-180

i do i have tested my tank the last 4 days 2 days with out fish and 2 days with fish after the tank has been cycled if you look at my tank straight on its clear if you look at it width wise its cloudy

nitrate and nitrite is clear my is ph is mid 7.0-7.5 kh is 80 and gh is 120-180

i will try to if you look at the front of the tank it looks clear but if you look through the tank at the side, you can see its slightly cloudy. no all clear only thing is high is the gh levels

I have never kept live plants before but looking to add some weeds to help with nitrate and looking to add 2 internal filters 1 will have standard with the tank and the 2nd will have carbax and amorax with a few sponge filters

I haven't got any fish yet I am waiting for the tank to be delivered, i do like gourami and killifish but i do love the Apestos, Black ram fish and kirbeneses

If the black knight ram and apistos along with the kirbensis had a lot of places to hide as well as lots of plants to help break the line of sight, would they be ok to be in a community tank? I will take out the raibow shark

thank you for your feedback, I am only looking to get 1 of each as I don want them to breed I have a lot of caves and flowers and logs, to break the line of sight i will also be putting other fish in their like gourami and Kribensis and some other school fish and a rainbow shark.
