My fish has thinner looking fins and they seem to have little pinholes in them. Is this a skin infection?

I have fuval bug bites for bettas. Hikari betta pellets and also hikari frozen blood worms. The bloodworms I give him maybe once or twice a week. The pellets and bug bites are his staple.

Although I’ve read comments on tank plant fertilizer that killed bettas (specifically stated bettas) I realize that they are designed for fish aquatic plant safety.

Yes there’s definitely some issues. I’m really worried about using fertilizer. I mean, when you use fertilizer on your lawn, they warn you to keep pets off the lawn for a bit. I really love my pets, including my betta Pineapple lol :)

Dropsy is something I’ve not heard of, thanks, I’ll check it out. Starting yesterday evening he’s really his happy self again, making his nests etc. so idk what was wrong. I kept him off food for 24 hours. 🤷🏻‍♀️

No this was a little before a change, and none of the numbers seemed to send off any bells to the aquarium person. Up to about 10 is still safe. And Pineapple is about 14 months old. He’s my first betta so I’m not sure how long they live.

Yeah I know what you mean. I dip and lay them flat. Tap sideways after a few seconds (like 5-6) then read. I’ve tested these strips accuracy at my aquatic shop. This isn’t a large commercial company, it’s a shop with healthy and well maintained aquariums so I trust them.

I use these and it nearly matched the one I took to my aquatic store. They have a machine that tests. Just saying, those are the same test strips I use.

What do you do with it? Maybe I don’t have the stuff you use it for. I thought I would move decor or planting in the tank but it’s too stiff and I can’t really close it on things 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve bought stupid stuff for sure. The dumbest thing I think would have to be, a long tweezer type thing. It holds nothing. Idk, maybe it’s for some other type tank, but I never have used them after I tried to use them to put new plants on the substrate.
