I struggle to see that... I know that's what Fluvial states, but everyone says to aim for 10x turnover or thereabouts. FX4's are not uncommonly used on a tank my size. I'm just not sure if it's overkill for my setup, especially in terms of the flow.

I would rather not have to do a 50% water change weekly if a more powerful filter alleviated this. The FX4 has more than a third the flowrate (theoretically); do you think this would be a better option then? Just wondering what your water change regime was on your 450l tank and how stocked it was?

Would people recommend a Fluval 407 as sufficient for a 350 litre? It's a planted aquarium with small fish, lightly stocked I would say. A couple of gouramis, cardinal tetras, red and black phantoms, guppies, corys and a couple of BN plecs. Thanks!

Hi Colin, thanks for this. The tanks is 87cm on the two straight sides (either side of the corner), and 123cm in a straight line across the bow front. I thought this was the case, but thanks for confirming. I'm just concerned about having adequate filtration volume.
