Where to look on water supplier website to find water information (GH/KH etc.)?

Thank you everyone for your posts. I haven't had chance to look at this properly yet - all of the different units really confused me and there's "life stuff" going on at the moment which means that my mind is not operating at it's best right now and I just cannot get my head around it 🤯 We've...

Where to look on water supplier website to find water information (GH/KH etc.)?

Thank you I did see that page but I have no idea what any of that means? If they don't use GH/KH then how do I find this out?

Where to look on water supplier website to find water information (GH/KH etc.)?

Morning :) I see a lot of threads on here and elsewhere regarding water GH and KH levels, but this is something that we have never tested. We use the API liquid kit and just use the PH test in there, however I'm curious now about the GH & KH numbers. I've been on the website of our water...

    Dog Barking Problem

I have no problem with shock collars for people! But dogs? Absolutely not! :D I much prefer animals to people lol But in all seriousness, I consider shock collars a punishment (and a very cruel one at that) and separation anxiety boils down to fear so....... Let's take a dog that is fearful...

Endler came with white something on tail, should I worry?

I'm no expert by any means but to my untrained eye, that looks like the natural markings of the fish (assuming you mean the small white part on the bottom half of the tail?) He's a very pretty little fish :)

If you generalize a little... what kind of fish do you like???

Not rare at all, but I think my favourite may be the Rummy Nose Tetra. I love the way they shoal together, their body shape is torpedo like.....it's very cool! And I like that they have pops of colour at both ends :D Our GSP Dotty was a favourite pet of mine, so much personality, she would...

Used Canister filter in saltwater ?

We used to run a saltwater tank for our puffer fish Dotty :) the canister filter that was in there was donated and is now in my sisters freshwater tank and she has had no problems at all. As others have said, it will need a thorough clean but it should be fine.

🐠 TOTM VOTE NOW - May 2024 Tank of the Month Contest (31 gal & larger)

This is my very first entry into TOTM and is our Fluval Roma 240 community tank. We have kept fish for many years but only ever had smaller tanks, with 125l being the largest previously. We desperately wanted something larger and when circumstances finally allowed, we decided to go for it...

    Baby fish!!! Advice needed

Little update on the fry (or mini fish as I like to call them) There appears to be seven of them in total and I think @fish48 was right about them being Emperors. Now that they are getting bigger and the colouring is coming in and becoming more visible, they definitely look like Emperors, the...

    Baby fish!!! Advice needed

It appears that they are staying in hiding and only appearing when it's feeding time. This is a risky strategy because feeding time is just a frenzy of activity and they are likely to simply get snapped up 😭 We're feeding a bit less now just to give them a bit of a chance to get bigger but we...

    Baby fish!!! Advice needed

Thankyou for your replies, still processing the fact that they've survived this long! 😁 Great suggestion about not adding anything new, we didn't think of those risks so thanks, maybe we'll just let nature take it's course and see what happens, they've clearly had enough hiding places up to now lol.

    Baby fish!!! Advice needed

So two nights ago we spotted some baby fish in our tank, we managed to count at least five but they are tiny and super quick! Very surprised to see them because this is a Tetra only tank .....a mix of Emperors, Rummy Noses and Neons, no live bearers.....we couldn't believe our eyes!! Everything...

    Floating plant help

The filter is the external Fluval 307 that came with the set up We have tried this over the weekend and it seems to be working! There is nowhere near as much bunching now so we will leave it like this and see how things go. It's only really until the smaller plants grow out a little and are...

    Floating plant help

The plants are either water sprite or water wysteria - they look very similar so I don't know which! And that is sort of the problem, a couple of the plants are large and the leaves easily span the width of the tank from front to back. But when the filter pushes the smaller plants around...

    Floating plant help

Hi everyone, Just a quick question if I may? We have been growing our floating plants which has up to this point been a success, but we are starting to get problems with them dying off. Basically the output from the filter is pushing all the floating plants to one end of the aquarium and because...

Jumping spider having a snack by our front door!

The spider catcher dog was a boxer :) I fear them so much that I can't be in the same room - I can just about deal with really tiny ones like money spiders but anything larger than that.....just no. I have no idea where my fear comes from because neither of my parents are afraid of spiders and...

Similar to me! My current dog chases them but then decides to play with them kind of touching them gently...

Power back up for tank (UK)

Good idea, I will start saving packaging! We do have spare blankets but last winter we had to use them even with the tank heater on. My worry is what if we can't power the heater at all due to a black out? The blankets just won't be enough I donlt think. It may well come to the point where...
