ok. I'm wondering at this point if euthanasia might be the best way to go. I don't want to lose him, but he just has one problem after another and there isn't much I can really do about it. He's been like this for almost a week now and I hate seeing him suffer.

Ok. I really hope he gets better soon. He got like this basically overnight so I'm not really sure what happened.

I held a small piece of a pea in front of him. He took a small bite but then spit it back out.

He hasn't eaten since Sunday but I can try to feed him a pea or spinach and see if he eats it.

I saved the cup he came in when I bought him at the store. I fill it with the aquarium water and scoop him out of the tank.

Went out today and got some floating plants. They didn't have much so I grabbed the only thing they had. Sour Patch is doing about the same as he has been, but his tummy has gotten a bit bigger since yesterday.

I turn the lights on when I wake up and turn them off before I go to sleep so they are on for about 10-12 hours a day.

I had no idea about that! I just unburied them and they are floating just above the gravel now. I am also letting the Amazon Sword float at the top of the tank for now until I get floating plants.

Ok. The store I went to didn't have any floating plants. There's a store further away that has some so I'll go later this week. I will see if floating the plant on top helps any. Is there anything I should do about the bloating?

Went out to the pet store and bought some live plants and some new gravel. I also did about a 50% water change and didn't add any more salt or medication. I turned off the air stone to decrease water flow. After I put Sour Patch in the tank, he swam right back down to the bottom and is still...

I can definitely do that! The lid of the tank has lights as well.

There are no other fish in his tank. I have been fasting him since Sunday.

The flow is a little high, but I turned it up to increase oxygen levels. There is also an air stone which increases the flow a bit. To test the water I use Aqua Care Pro testing strips and Tetra EasyStrips Ammonia test strips.

I added the salt because it looked like he was starting to get fin rot. I added the medication because he has had gill flukes in the past and I thought this might have something to do with that.

Ok. My only concern with that is that the tank doesn't get a ton of direct sunlight, and I can't really move it anywhere where there would be. I'm worried about the plants doing more harm than good at that point. I don't think I will be able to get live plants today anyway, so is there anything...
