The first attempt lasted 3 months however some plants were not suitable in the environment and some were growing fine but isn't lavishly. :/ This is my second attempt on the same jar, this time added hydrilla water plant, anubias and some snails. I will top some food every once awhile. Still...

Happy easter! Honestly for a first tank you are doing brilliantly. Water may seem a little cloudy, is that a sponge filter I see? You may want to upgrade your filters with better bio filtration. I'm not an expert in this however in my opinion, adding a few more live stocks wouldn't hurt i guess...

Update on 2023, my rounded belly figure 8 puffer turn out okay. Whatever it was back then, it subsided. Now the belly will go back to its original flat tummy on the following day and will round up a pot belly after a daily meal (skipping 1 or 2 days a week) :lol: Looking back at the early stage...

Thanks a lot for the info. I will leave them till tomorrow to see how this puffer react. Suppose it will also build up their appetite for garlic flavour munchies. Second day without food and still looking round-ish. I will try the garlic soaking meal tomorrow.
