Don’t understand why they’d be illegal unless invasive or something. One very oddball fish I do own is a gymnallabes typus catfish that I’ve had maybe a year now. But these two species i fins are oddball in many ways.

I’ve had him since he was 3/4”. Here’s a photo from the day I got him on may 4th in the parking lot of the store I got him at.

Depending on tank size I’d recommend about 7 for a shoal to keep them all happy. I know it’s extremely unlikely but is there a possibility that eating one of the shrimp that maybe the shell damaged an organ of the fish and that’s why it’s floating around
