Can anyone ID this tiny snail please?

Would that have come from the plants I bought a while ago? Are they considered to be pest snails?

Can anyone ID this tiny snail please?

I have a couple of rabbit snails in my tank and have just noticed two baby snails which are clearly baby rabbit snails. However, I can also see at least two tiny snails in the tank which don’t look to be baby rabbit snails but I have no clue what they are. I haven’t bought any new plants in at...

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

I just couldn’t get on with the Fluval Edge at all so I bought a Fluval Flex 57l. I instantly feel happier with it. I bought play sand and rinsed it a lot and moved my existing plants and ornaments over. I filled the filter with the existing media and moved the water over to the new tank...

    Tank recommendations

I posted a thread last week, explaining that I’d bought a second hand 46l Fluval Edge tank. I quickly realised that, while the tank looks lovely, it’s not the most practical in terms of maintenance. Anyhow, the light seems to have broken on the tank now. On the off chance I can convince my...

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

I haven’t put anything in myself, but they could possibly have been in with the plants from the shop. I did think they could be something like that because I hadn’t noticed them until I began to remove dead plants.

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

I’ve done another 75% water change today and removed the very obviously dead plants. It looks a million times better. But now I have these yellow balls on the bottom of the tank (second pic) does anyone have any idea what they could be?

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

Thank you all so much for your advice! I agree that the tank isn’t the most practical, I wanted a tank that looked stylish in the living room but now see that was a huge error. I daren’t say that to my husband though, he’ll kill me if I say I don’t like the tank now! Hopefully, I can get this...

    3.5 gallon Ghost shrimp tank

Sorry to jump on this thread but how do you know if you’re buying feeder shrimp? What is an average price for shrimp (Ghost or Cherry)?

What sort and how many fish for a 10 gallon tank?

Sorry, the picture is awful. Apparently, my zone is the SP zone (very clumsily highlighted).I know we’re in a hard water area because I have to descale the tassimo every 5 minutes!

What sort and how many fish for a 10 gallon tank?

Im in the process of setting up a new 10 gallon tank. It’s not ready for fish yet but, having been caught out by not researching on this site and listening to poor advice from the local shop, I’d like to check with the experts here regarding stocking the tank when the time comes. The tank is...

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

I’ve ordered some moss balls. If I buy some Hornwort, will that prevent the light reaching plants on the tank bottom?

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

I’m so sorry, but I have no idea what plants they are. He put them in bags and wrote ‘back of tank’, ‘middle of tank’ and ‘on rock’.

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

Yes, I just wanted a more natural looking tank and one which offers a nicer environment for fish. He was aware this was my first planted tank and seemed to get a bit carried away! I’m in no rush to get the fish in there so am happy to wait to get it just right. Thank you for all of the advice, I...

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

Right, I was up at 6 this morning cleaning the sludge out of the tank. I saved what I could of the gravel and swilled it. A lot. I’ve filled it back up and its definitely clearer. I’m hoping the filter will sort out most of what’s left. I’ve ordered some aquarium filter cotton, which I’ve read...

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

There is an attractive line of soil at the water level. I’m planning on leaving it going over night and then removing the plants into a bucket, emptying the water and scooping most of the substrate out. I’ll then swill what’s left of the new gravel out and cover the thin layer of substrate which...

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

Yes, I really wished I’d looked into the ‘set up’ advice, on here, in more depth. For one, I never even considered play sand to be safe for use in an aquarium! I could have saved a fortune on sand to start off with! I’ll try and add a photo of the tank in its current state and will gratefully...

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

I think I’m going to have to start over. The tank is definitely clearing as time goes on, but there is a thick layer of silt over everything and I know as soon as there is even the slighted movement in the sand, it’ll look a mess again. I could kick myself because I have spent quite a lot on...

New set up and I think I’ve messed up already!

I have night a second hand Fluval Edge 46l. I have ever had a planted tank before so I went to our local aquatics shop and asked advice on how to set one up. I bought the soil, realised that the tank is definitely style over substance, in that it was difficult to control the flow of the soil...
