If anything it coulda been a rock...got some in there with slightly "jagged" edges...nothing sharp though. No redness, pure white. on the outside of the lip, and I havent been able to catch the little guy to feel it.

It's a 55gal tank, 6 Giant Danios, 1 blue Dwarf male gourami, 1 common plec (7in), 4 cream-sickle mollies, 8 neons, and 2 australian rainbows. The "growth" isnt fluffy looking, it looks like a.....zit kind of, solid swollen looking thing.

I bought a master water test kit, it included a ph, nitrIte, and ammonia testers. Problem is, my ammonia test kit (color system) only goes to 2ppm, how am I supposed to know when i'm up to 4-6ppm?!?! WHAT DO I DO! Is there any alternative besides going and buying another/better ammonia test...

I read in all the articles and FAQs I need some gravel from a well established tank to get some benficial bacteria in there because I don't have any yet. Where can I get some? Is there an alternative, someone said potted plants, can someone explain that? Thanks, -Logan
