they haven’t given birth but how can you tell that they are pregnant? can you see the gravid spot? i’m honestly concerned that i’m overfeeding them and they’re just fat

hey so i have two female platies and they’re really plump. i had a male platy but i returned him to petco because he was aggressive. i’m having a hard time telling whether or not they are pregnant. i was looking out for the gravid spot but it’s hard to tell.
