    New To Bettas

Thanks, Do I need to fully scrub down/break down my tank and re-cycle (tank is currently cycled) or can I continue medicating for the Ich that was present for a few days and then maybe an anti-fungal? I've asked this question on the Beginner Forum, still waiting for guidence. There are a...

    New To Bettas

Hello, I'm looking to re-stock my son's 10G US tank after his goldfish succumbed to Ich. Right now, I'm thinking 5-6 female bettas and a couple of albino corys. Does this sound like it could work? I'm also concerned with what sort of decorations and substrate. I know they like rest spots...

    Square One (again)

I think I'm going to go with the bettas, as they are more easily available. To that end, I'll head to the betta section to get some more info. But I'm still looking for some help on how to treat my tank post Ich. Would a few more days Ich Clear, followed by some antifungal do the trick...

    Square One (again)

The tank is cycled (which is why I'd rather not start from scratch) and yes I have a heater. It came with the aquarium, but I've never used it (goldfish). I know a bit about the fighting fish (one male only), but I've heard they can be a bit sedentary. Resting a lot on plants and ornaments and...

    Square One (again)

My son's Black Moor succumbed to Ich. We had been treating daily is Ich Clear and 35% water changes. I believe he may have actually fallen prey to something else as the Ich seemed to be clearing up. The only remaining inhabitants of the 10G US tank are a couple of ghost shrimp who seem to be...

    Brown algae problems

I've got a small tank (10g) in my 2 year old son's room. Occupants are a single black moor (2 in.) and anywhere between 1 & 3 ghost shrimp (depending on how sporty/hungry the Moor is). Tank is established, levels are fine, water changes are 30% weekly. Recently there's been a brown algae...

    Questions about my first tank.

Now that I'm able to do. I've got the Commons and the Wakin in a big rubbermaid container now (about 30-35 G) with the powerhead. I wrapped a green brillo pad type scrubber around the intake for some filtration. I'll see what else I can scrounge up. I can't really spend much more on these...

    Questions about my first tank.

Ok, I've cut my feedings down to once a day (for the time being) to help eliminate some ammonia probs. It's a shame about the shrimp. I might throw a couple in anyway in a couple weeks. There's some cover for them to hide in. If they're crafty they make it. If not, it's tasty live treats...

    Questions about my first tank.

I recently set up my first tank ever. It's for my 2 year old son. It hasn't finished cycling yet. Things seem to be going well, and I'd like to keep it that way as my son is getting rather attached to his " 'Ish!". It's a 10 gallon, with some fake plants and rocks for cover. Running a small...

    Howdy

Just figured I'd say hi. I recently set up a coldwater tank for my son. (which is my first tank ever) I did a bit a research beforehand, but I figure I can use all the help I can get to keep things running smooth.
