Ok so I have a pair of dwarf gouramis and the female is showing signs of illness. All water parameters are normal. I brought four new guppies home last week, but apart from that nothing is different to normal. It looks as if the scales around her gills are either gone or irritated, raw looking...

Yes I did, I welcomed them to the tank as you should, all other guppies are fine just this one...

Guppy is not sinking just lying at the bottom of the tank and opening and closing it’s mouth and flapping its Finns

Well as it’s lockdown not immediately... I got my water tested at fish alive just before lockdown and they said it was fine?

Yes it was cycled and they’ve been in the tank for 3 months now and have seemed fine

PH is 7.4, I have soft water... that’s all I know sorry

My guppy seems to be acting wierd... he is acting as if he can’t swim upwards, just frantically swimming on the spot at the bottom of the tank, I fed them and he seam a bit but not normally... any suggestions? Thanks in advance

38.5cm is just the glass part of the tank :)

Ok Thankyou for being nice about it, I think some think my tank is much smaller than it is because 10 US gallons is much smaller than UK gallons. Thankyou this should help a lot x

My water is more suited for the neons over the guppies though

Thankyou so much for this, so helpful! Do you think if I can get more neons now I could get them whilst having the 6 guppies? Or do I have to wait for the guppies to pass then get more neons...? Also, if after the guppies I get five more neons, then am I able to get more of another fish like...

Yes the fish alive is just a ten min drive away! I love going there it’s like I’m in fish heaven haha!! Yea I think I managed to find the table if you check out the pics I posted as I’m not sure exactly which things I’m looking at :)

Are you sure I can only have a shoal if guppies in the tank? They it just seems so small and even with the guppies too the tank looks so empty. I’ve seen many 10G fishtanks online with a beautiful range of fish without obvious overcrowding...

Tank dimensions are: 58.5cm length, 30.5cm depth and 38.3cm height. I’ve tried looking up my water stats but can’t seem to find them anywhere. I live in Durham City if that helps

They keep on saying that for a 10 gallon you could have a small shoal of guppies, a small shoal of neons and one or two dwarf gourami, what do you think about that? I also love platies and mollies. What do you think the ideal 10 gallon setup with those sort of fish in mind is? Thanks for...

i got my water tested at my LFS and they said it was ok... what sort of fishtank do you own? I’m curious to learn more as I’ve scoured the internet for answers but keep coming back to the same ones!!
