My 5 gal beta fish tank keeps having ammonia spikes. I cycled the tank first and he’s been in it almost 3 weeks. There’s a lot too of debri on the bottom and I can’t figure out why because he eats all his food and I siphon the bottom once a week. I’ve also been change out the water half every week.
I got a 5.5 gal tank today as an upgrade for my betta. I need to cycle it but I need to know where to start and what to do. Today I put rocks, water, the filter, and stress coat in the tank and a couple cups of water from my other tank. Is there a way to cycle without buying ammonia? Thanks for...
So would a 20 gallon be okay for a “normal” goldfish then? I don’t have enough room at my house for a tank bigger than 20 gallons. I love goldfish but I want to make sure I give them proper living conditions :) also are there any more unique looking single tail goldfish that you know of?
I’ll plan on getting a larger tank then for now. My beta is always energetic, I’m just concerned about his fins. But I’m sure he’d do a lot better in a bigger tank.
I am thinking about getting a Black Moor Goldfish. I was wondering what size of tank would be best and if a filter would be needed? At first I was thinking a 5 gallon tank with an air stone, but I’ve seen several people saying they must have a 20 gallon at least? Would a 10 gallon tank be big...

EMERGENCY!!!!: I purchased a betta 4-5 days ago and he was put in a heated and filtered 2.5 gallon tank. I noticed he had fin rot shortly after purchasing him but he was eating just fine. This morning I woke up to him with white fuzz covering him (I’m guessing fungi) and most of the color gone...
