    Help identifying this fish

Thank you! My guess was aulonocara as well, but now I know to watch for the coloring of the scianochromis ahli. I will wait a few months and post a new picture here of him.

What is this worm creature and should I treat for parasites?

I would do that if they were adult fish, but these are tiny fish fry. Don't they need small amounts 2-3 times a day?

What is this worm creature and should I treat for parasites?

This worm does not always attach to plants. It can be free swimming and when it does it wriggles very rapidly. I could not get that on video. :( It is a 5 gallon mainly for my shrimp, but right now it has some tetra (I think) fry in it that I took out of the main tank to keep safe. I think...

    Tail type?

What do you guys think this tail type is? This is a 5 month old for reference, so I don’t think his tail is fully grown in yet. It’s hard to tell but it has somewhat of a division like a heart. I have 4 that look this way.

    New Betta Hobbyist

Thanks so much! Yes, you bring up a really good point. I keep it on a static color for a whole day, sometimes changing it midday and then in the evening. They also get 8-12 hours of darkness for sleepy time. Every once in awhile I have set it to fade very slowly just to watch for a few minutes...

    New Betta Hobbyist

Here is a picture of Prince Eric when I first brought him home, a very recent photo of Ariel and a few of the fry when they were just a few weeks old. I'll make another post in the betta forum area to show how the babies look now and Prince Eric's new look. I have so many questions.

    New Betta Hobbyist

Last year I began the intensive knowledge dive into the world of betta breeding after years of being a fish admirer. I locked eyes with a completely translucent betta fish, Prince Eric and instantly fell in love. I made a completely unplanned and a little bit shameful pet store purchase. He...
