i had 3 convicts in a 2 foot tank. decorated with loads of slate and making loads of hiding places, and they seemed perfectly happy for the yr i had them, then unfortunately pipes burst when i was away for the night and died due to the power cut, enjoyed keeping them tho, was interesting to watch

im looking into the same thing for a 10 gallon tank, and have been suggested either shrimp, snail, or maybe some corys, so think im going to try a few corys. hope this helps

was going to cycle the tank through fish less, then think ill add them all together, thinking 3 or 4 corys and one betta, not decided on which type yet tho, the albino ones look cool. then maybe look into a snail or some shrimp later on see how everything is going.

thanks, yeah was only thinking 1 male betta at the moment, know i woudl have to have bettas in a different tank if i wanted more, just out of interest as read someone was keeping them together, do bettas and swordtails mix? or does it depend on the tempermant of each fish?

just read somewhere that a guy did an experiment and released 2 bettas into the middle of a lake and they still ended up fighting. so maybe its just not meant to happen, but just makes you wonder how they survive in the wild
