    Hello from Edinburgh

I'm afraid your tank is heavily overstocked.. only the plecos would need a larger tank of their own. the guppies need to be in a set up of 2 females per male, or only males, to not fight between them. Try to get testers for your water, so that you can know it's quality and do the needed partial...

Welcome Tara Zahara! euhm, sorry to ask abruptely but, how did you cycle your tank so fast? normally it takes up to 2 months before adding fish... also, what kind of catfish you got? I think the spieces will more likely to be in schools, the more the merrier.. how big is your tank?

    Bettas and Guppies Help

I think your tank is heavily overstocked, the bristlenose pleco only would need a minimum of 75 liters.. the banjo catfish only would require another 70 liters.. The guppies are a school fish so they need to be with more of their kind, and the female bettas, they are indeed agressive fish, they...

    Sick Betta

hi Elena, Sorry about your betta, he seems very stressed out. Were you able to test your water for toxines? Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates? Is your beneficial bacteria well and established? Is there a filter in the tank? Let's hope he recovers soon!

Is there a way to reverse siphon- using it to add water?

Why not directly from the tap? (If it is drinkwater of course)

how much algae would be bad for the tank?

One of my tanks receives a lot of sun light during the day, and it has quite a lot of (black?) algae. I just wonder when does it start to become a threat, how much can still be safe for my fishies and plants?

    Sorority tank!

Hi CatScott, Yeah I was actually thinking about that. I was wondering about your chances of success. Since you're bringing your girls all the way from Thailand, considering the huge betta farms they have over there, I assume they all will come from the same breeding batch. So they will be...

    Sorority tank!

Great tank! I agree tho, needs more jungle. The frozen food cubes, what I do is cut them with scissors, bit by bit until I have the big enough portion. But I only have 4 bettas. You will have 13.. you might finish a cube in one round.. depends of course on the appetite of your girls.

Betta seems to be breathing heavily

Hmm personally I would not do such larger amount of water change as 75%. Because it stresses the fish, and in this case where the toxins levels are perfect, I see no need to it. Normally a water change I do of Maximum 50% per time. If i have a peak of toxins, then I do a tank flush, this is...

Hi Fabulance, Could it be your pH is fluctuating..? Do you know your KH..? How do you do water changes? What's the parameters of the new water you add to the tank..?
