At the size yours is atm i cant see it taking out a rainbow fish tbh. Molly fry yes but your catfish are also big enough to be guilty. Cant say ive ever seen my Rope fish hunting in away to eat other fish but ive not got them in with anything i feel would be small enough.

They can live alone, as a pair or in a group. It just depends on tank size and if you go for a pair/group you can get some territorial disputes during breeding but they generally coexist with most fish and are a pretty chilled out species. Ive got a trio of Rotkeils and i have no drama's at...

Noticed on my profile for example that fotm's and totm's are missing and some totm's etc are missing off other members proflies too.

Has there been an update on the site lately? The layouts changed in places and things are missing off proflies like Potm and Totm's etc

Never kept the above but i think in general Goldfish, particularly Fancies, tend to struggle in deeper water. The way they swim and their body shape etc tends to make Longer and shallower tanks much better for them. So id go greater depth over height.

I think fluval are pretty much the best all round canisters on the market. High performance, reliable and cheaper than some of the other top brands. The 4's are really easy for maintance and normally pretty quiet. The Fx series are top dogs in canister land🏆 Oase is a soild brand tho and come...

Yes with the black stripe on the gill plate id go with Dicrozoster too. Geos are difficult to distinguish between the species tbf

Shims will sort it. I used steel shims on my Central tank.

I had a similar experience last weekend with a fish store ive not been to for a good while but always had a good reputation here in the midlands. Couldnt believe how downhill its gone. Really disappointing to see. Just wanted to roll my sleeves up and sort the whole store out.

Thank you🙂 Yes i prefer real plants and before i started keeping Cichlids i wouldnt of even thought of artificial plants but im quite thankful for them now as i do like greenery in my tanks. Just got to chose the right ones as there are some really tacky stuff out there.

A good maintance routine is the best gift we can give our fish. I too do large water changes on all my tanks weekly and like you say this provides a stable and healthy water chemistry long term🙂 I find maintance quite therapeutic🙂

Id place any plant mix you use in mesh bags as bits will eventually rise above the sand if you add it loosely. The cories may mix things up for you aswel. Im not a massive fan of the plant soils tbh, i dont think they add anything you cant get with just sand and root tabs.

Have you any over head cover i.e floating plants. I find this really makes a big difference to small fish like yours 🙂

Neons v Cardinals... Lovely little fish the Neons but id always pay that bit extra for cardinals personally. I find them more colourful, they can go to warmer temps which gives you more options for tank mates and they are hardier than Neons (certainly in the Uk anyway)

They certainly learn quickly what time dinner is 😋 mine are always first in the queue soon as the light turns on at 5. Very cool when they swim together like that. They are striking fish to look at. Yours are getting a nice size 🙂

How you finding the mirco crabs, do you see them much?🙂

Few tweaks in cropping to size etc but nothing too clever. Not needed with this fish. Ive always rated Samsungs for their camera's, much better than Iphones.
