Fish that get along with oscars and will also eat little nematodes or detritus worms

I found that snails help cleaning extra food etc. a lot especially Malaysian Trumpet Snails and Ram Snails. I have them in abundance. The tanks where I have MTSnails don't even have a mulm buildup to vacuum anymore. I also don't have algae on my glass to clean anymore. Both types of snails clean...

Lost a cichlid in a water change!?!?

Places I've found ghost fish: A German Blue Ram regularly getting stuck swimming up clear tube from shrimp feeder. A rummy Nose Tetra swam into cholla wood and got stuck. A GBRam got its head stuck in metal moss wall mesh backing. Fish & shrimp get crazy when frightened and do dumb things like...

Can anyone ID these baby snails?

My MTS babies do not look like your photo. The spirals of mine are ridged and very tight. The shells of yours look less ridged (do not mean swirls or coils but texture). Yours look smoother. I would definitely give them a chance to grow out so you can see what they turn into. My favorite snails...

Here's a short video of my vase tank which is maybe 2-3 gallons. The berried cherry females gave birth and their babies grew quickly into a rowdy active group of shrimp. They get their exercise by swimming in circles together and zooming around. Then they get down to business and eat for awhile.

Well they recommend 10 shrimp per gallon as a going amount so you have some space for more. *wink

    Possible Parasites....

When my pink convict cichlid started rubbing against it's rocks yet showed no signs of illness, I watched and waited to observe. They do use their bellies to move sand around normally. Rubbing on rocks is different and when I noticed it happening more than on occasion, I did a water change...

I'm in north west Jersey so we're in the middle of farms and woods too. Love it! The orange are Orange Sakura shrimp which are great breeders. The blue shrimp tank has 2 kinds: a darker Blue Dream and a lighter blue I can't recall at the moment. I have a vessel tank with Red Cherry shrimp as...

Sorry for the staggered pics. I had to resize then had a couple upside down. Here's a bunch of blue shrimp I caught running an illegal snail fighting ring. Also a pic of my dwarf pink convict.

Hello folks, I'm from northern New Jersey. I am alone in my interest in aquarium keeping as my husband and teen son don't share my awe and enjoyment of it. I am an animal lover, gardener and artist. I found this forum while Googling for info on my cichlid. What was sold to me months ago as a...
