The Great pH and fin rot mystery continues

Hey guys. I've asked a few questions over the past few months. So I came home from college about a month and a half ago. I had my parents set up and start cycling a tank before myself and my betta arrived. Tank transfer was done correctly and everythung seemed good. All ammonia, nitrite, and...

Fin Rip is Still an Issue

A while back I posted about my Betta's fin rip. I tried the suggestions and it has only gotten worse. The damage has moved from his Claudal fin to his Dorsal and one of his Pelvic fins. There is nothing abrasive in the tank to cause the damage. The only thing I could thing of was his water...

Dirt from the woods or Dirt from the garden store?

Ok. Thanks guys. I ended up getting some rocks and sand from a local creek bed. I then cooked it over the course of two days. I then put it in my tank and planted. It seems to be going fine now and the fish seems more active.

    Betta Fin Rip.

I give him about four Aqueon Betta Food pellets a day and one or two pre-soaked blood worms.

    Betta Fin Rip.

Hey guys. So I have had my betta for a few months now and he's a great fish. I absolutely love him. Recently I have noticed that his fins have been ripping. Now he did have some very abrasive plastic plants in there so I removed those. I'm pretty sure that's what was causing the ripping. In the...

Dirt from the woods or Dirt from the garden store?

Hey everyone. I have a 10 gallon tank that I want to put dirt so that I can grow some plants. I know I can put a lot of tanks just in my gravel but I'd like some sort of dirt at the bottom. I have been reading about this. Some people recommend just going outside and getting some dirt then baking...

    Greetings

Hey everyone. My name is Grady. I'm a college student just getting into the hobby. I have had a betta for abut 2 months and figured I should find a community where I can ask questions of more experienced fish keepers.

Tetras are dead but now I have babies.

So the plot thickens. I went back to the pet shop today where I got them because the 24 hour warranty was still in place. They wanted a water sample to test so I took it in. Apparently the pH was a little high but everything else was fine with the water. My only thoughts now are just that these...

Tetras are dead but now I have babies.

Yes the betta is back in his previous home. I had just done a 25% water change the day before I bought the tetras. It had been over 24 hours since a water change but I can sure try a 50%. I also don't think any of the baby shrimp will survive. Between my filter and the betta I doubt any of them...

Tetras are dead but now I have babies.

Ok so I just ordered some liquid tests. The fry are so small that I can't quite get a good picture of them. However, I looked up neon tetra fry and they don't look like that so they have to be shrimp. My shrimp isn't wanting her picture taken right now but she's some what see through and tan...

Tetras are dead but now I have babies.

Hello everyone. I am new to fish keeping and these forums. I got into this hobby a little over two months ago. I bought a betta and he was living in a one gallon tank. About five days ago I bought a ten gallon tank o upgrade for my betta. I let it cycle for about 36 hours and then I added my...
