How to deal with a snail infestation in a tank with newts?

Feed a lot less food, they can only increase with a food supply My Africans love snails, I use a net to scrape them up to the top and a toothbrush to get them off the glass into the net. They don't make it to the bottom dumping them in with the africans

    UV Clarifier or not?

Put your water into a white container just before a water change and tell me it doesnt have some color, I don't care how well a tank is taken care of, you might not see it through the front of a tank, but you will looking through from the long end If you want to try a uv it won't hurt a damn...

    UV Clarifier or not?

What really amazed me is 5 or 6 days into a water change when the water starts looking a little yellowish looking in from the end of the tank, running the uv in my can a day or two a week the fish will look like their still swimming in air.

    Breaking the biotope...

A few nitrates isn't gonna kill you, hotdogs got them. Worrying about them might... It would be nice to have water out of the tap without nitrates. If it's good enough for us to eat or drink them, then it's good enough for the fish. Drawing the line, a person can go overboard, this is...
