Whats the best way to start a new tank? I started one a few weeks ago and it didnt go well. I thought we did everything right but the fish kept dying. So how would i go about starting over?

Im not sure how to upload a picture but there are 2 red fin tetra, a black tip tetra (3 of them died) a little shrimp (crayfish thing) and one bottom feeder catfish guy. I woke up today and my fish had bubbles all over them and when i looked it up it matched a thing called gas bubble disease...

No i don't know what that is. Its been set up for id say a month now. I had the pH level tested at thr pet store but that is the only test ive done, it came back ok. Im not sure what fish they are exactly. 2 of them are red fin tetras!

Hello! So i just got a 20 gallon fish tank and i dont know how to get it right. I keep loosing fish. I have common tropical school fish there is a heater in the tank and the filter is running properly. But now my fish have that gas bubble disease thing. What am i doing wrong? Help
