    Ask Questions About Cycling

Ok I will do that. It's a saltwater tank. The rock was very clean when I bought it - dead organics were completely gone within two weeks and they didn't produce much ammonia.

    Ask Questions About Cycling

I've completed the cycle but I won't be adding for for another two weeks. (tank isn't quire ready).   Should I keep adding the full dose of ammonia every day (?) to prevent the bacteria starving?   Phosphates have remained at 0.5 for the past 3 weeks (using dried live rock). Nitrate is around...

    Fluvial Edge 46L Costs

A trip to my LFS really opened my eyes to the size and types of tanks I should be looking at, especially for marine. The Fluvial edge is definitely out of the question - far too small. I was somewhat surprised that the livestock is slightly cheaper online too.   The Fluvial M40 is nice (glass...

    Fluvial Edge 46L Costs

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to a LFS later today to see what they sell and if I'm still interested when I see the livestock!   I hear what you are saying about these type of tanks and I'm going to look into it properly before making decisions. (cost is the main factor)   This is very nice...

    Fluvial Edge 46L Costs

Hello,   I'm looking at getting back into fish keeping, having has a 100L tropical tank as a teenager.   I was originally looking at biOrb Life 15L for just shrimp but I'm not so sure yet due to having to replace the filter to make it a better environment.   I'm now looking at a Fluvial Edge 46L...

    Biorb Life 15L Portrait

Does anyone know of a internal submergible (tiny) filter for the Life 15Litre? Could adding a more powerful air pump provide better filtration?   EDIT: I've found this: http://www.rocketaquatics.co.uk/Aquael-Fan-Filter-Micro.html   Also if I use a internal filter, I understand I can remove the...

    Biorb Life 15L Portrait

Slightly off topic but if these were half the price, I'd rather have one tbh. http://www.biorb.co.uk/products/terrariums/biOrbAIR   I've been looking around but there is nothing that comes close to this (that is available to purchase). I could probably buy any of the biOrb tanks and convert it...

    Any Success With Biorb?

The 46L is far to large for my desk and I don't want to buy more furniture!

    Any Success With Biorb?

Thanks for the welcome :)   I've looked at the fluvial edge 23L but it's just not high enough for my liking :(. Would shrimp be happy on the ceramic media as there isn't really much options for other media since it would get stuck in the filter.

    Any Success With Biorb?

Hello,   I'm looking at returning to a hobby of fish keeping, specifically keeping cherry shrimp.   The biOrb Life 15L is very appealing to me due to its price, design and integration in one unit. I understand that they aren't really suitable for fish which I'm fine with and I've had suggestions...

    Biorb Life 15L Portrait

Thanks for the replies!   I agree that with 15L shrimp and plants are the only option really and looking at cherry shrimp I think I'd be happy with that!    Main problem is the filter, where I don't really want the rocks that come with the Biorb, but instead black gravel for some contract...

    Biorb Life 15L Portrait

Hello,   I'm looking at getting back into fish keeping, having had a 100L tropical tank as a teenager and learning a lot about them. (I also heavily researched marine tanks but cost got in the way)   I'll admit  'traditional' fishtanks don't interest me  - Reef one have expanded their range a...
