    Snail Pest Control?

Firstly, I'm very sorry for this confusion. I selected the wrong area when signing up and it won't let me change it back yet! I'm actually located in the USA, and Dwarf Mexican Lobsters ARE legal here.   I've never been planning to "get a fish just to do a job" in my tank. every fish I plan...

    Changing Residency?

If I set up again with my gravel, decorations, and equipment, will putting all new water in mean my tank will have to cycle again? Many of the fish I plan to have stocked by then are not so tolerant of "cycling" tanks. This is why I'm asking. Thank you for all the responses so far!

    Snail Pest Control?

So far in my tank I only have a couple Platys. I plan to get some pygmy Corys and Dwarf Mexican Lobsters. Would either of these be a good choice for "snail duty?"  I haven't seen snails in my tank as much as it used to be so I think they are dying out. Hopefully!

    Snail Pest Control?

About a month and a half ago, I purchased some Jungle Val and Crispus plants for my tank (I already had these plants and simply wanted a bigger quantity). Shortly thereafter, I began seeing "pest" snails pop up everywhere in my tank! Since then, I see a snail or two in my tank every couple days...

    Changing Residency?

Thank you for your responses!    I never intended to sell my equipment and fish if and when I did move from place to place. My question is more asking the best way to transition my fish from one place to another, even maybe over a large distance. I plan to move out of state within the next...

    Hello :)

Ninjouzata, I used a bagged gravel that had some bacteria already on it. I also used some live plants and currently only have two fish stocked in my tank. (Think I mentioned this in my very first post, maybe?) I know better than to overstock!  My tank is finished cycling after eight weeks so I'm...

    Hello :)

I read through that link a couple times and think I'm missing something. It says that cycling with fish can take up to 5 or 6 months and that fishless cycling only takes about six weeks. That's the part that gets me, because I've had my fish pretty much the whole time I've had my tank set up...

    Changing Residency?

This may be a silly question. If it is, forgive me, I'm still learning!   I've always wondered about this. What does one do when they are moving (changing residency to another location) in regards to their aquarium? I know that the answer is probably something like, "put tank water in a bucket...

    Hello :)

My water parameters have been pretty good during the whole process, to be honest. As far as I have tested, anyway. I'm not sure how in-fish cycling would be slower, given that fish contribute elements which help the process along. But maybe I just haven't read up on it enough. I thought I did...

    How To Update/edit Profile

I was wondering about this too! I also created my account in a hurry and accidentally selected the wrong location. I'm in the USA not the UK! Also wondered about that error message when trying to upload a profile picture. Glad I'll be able to do it later.

    Scale Injury? Help!

Thank you so much for the response! I am less worried about the little guy now. I am going to keep the water in good condition and hope that it helps the healing process.

    Scale Injury? Help!

Hello everybody. As a newbie to this type of pet, I may have simple, silly questions to ask. Please forgive me!   Now, on to my situation. Currently the only fish I have are two Blue Coral Platys. If I'm not mistaken, they're both male. They are both very peaceful, friendly, and not aggressive...

    Hello :)

Thank you everybody for the very warm welcomes.    I knew that there was such a thing as a fishless cycle, however I was extremely impatient upon setting up my tank and just HAD to get a couple right away. Plus, I think it has helped speed up the process, if I'm not mistaken.

    Hello :)

Hello! Just thought I'd give a quick introduction. here. I go by Bambi, it's really my nickname. I'm 21, and fairly new to the Aquarium world. I currently am nearing the end of cycling my very first tank! In my tank I have two Blue Coral Platys for starters. I'm pretty shy when it comes to...
