    I acclimate the fish simply by floating the bag, which is what i have always done. I leave the bag with the lights off for a few hours periodically adding small amounts of tank water to the bag. I would need to set up a quarantine tank though wouldn't I?

    I did the water change and dosed to 2ppm yesterday already for precautionary measures. My pH has always been about 7.5   Right now my levels are: Ammonia- 0ppm Nitrites-     5ppm (very hard to read on API test) Nitrates-    100ppm pH-            7.5

     After about a day i just tested again. My levels were: Ammonia:  .5ppm (was 3ppm) Nitrite:  0-.25ppm (was 0ppm) Nitrate:40ppm      (was 10ppm) pH: 7.6                 (Constant)

    Thank you so much I had suspected that...My pH was around 7-7.5 throughout the entire cycle. I just did a 90% water change. After the water change my levels were:   Ammonia:0ppm Nitrite:0ppm Nitrate:10ppm pH:7.6   I then dosed with ammonia to 3ppm. Will post again tomorrow
