Thank you, I was hoping it was that and not something that could kill him. He is otherwise very perky and alert and healthy looking, just has a small dot on his eye.
Was looking at my tank today and noticed my betta has a small white spot on his eye. I haven't introduced any new fish, 29gal tanks heated, cycled, and maintained. His eye isn't swollen. No changes in behavior, still fiesty and active. I can snap a picture if that will help (If i can, hes a fast...
I don't have a pond. I have a 29gal tank. I can't even get rid of the fish because I'm in a weird joint custody with my stepbrother and he wants to keep it,
So I ended up with a fantail goldfish in a ten gallon(dumb stepbrother), and after being unable to obtain a bigger tank with the money I have, I have decided to do some switching. My tank that I've had is a 29gal tank, it has a betta, 9 neon tetras, and 5 corys. I'm considering switching the...
Yea, His fins were pretty torn up when I first got him, and they haven't grown back fully. My tank plants are finally growing really steadily now I'm pretty pleased with my setup. I had my first betta in a 1.5gal Bowl for a year before I got him in the 29gal. He was in there for nearly 2years...
I do actually! My little guys in a 29gal atm with some neon tetras and corys. Heres a semi decent pic of him. He is a hard one to photograph. dont mind that odd glare lol.
My filter is clear, most of it anyways. Usually when it starts to look a bit grimey and the flow is slowin a bit, I clean it. Take it apart and swab it with qtips. ^_^ Then it bumps back up to how it was when I first got it.
Bump up the temp to about 26-27c if you haven't already.

^A fairly informative page. Are any of the stress-inducing causes relevant?
I'm not sure if a 100% water change is really necessary that much. I hardly ever do a 75% water change all...
I went to say hi to my little buddy lastnight and noticed a strange, rather large, clear... thing. It looks like a giant scale. Also, this light discoloured patch on his head is very new. He had just eaten there so his belly is a bit pudgy. Is this something to be worried about? no ammonia, no...
Alright, ideally.. I do NOT want babie piggies. My mother would kill me and I just don't have enough friends that want them. Do shelters spay guinea pig females like they do cats and dogs?
I've had my guinea pig shane for a year or so now. He was given to me by my uncle, who received him from a lady that was trying to return him to a petshop. I know guinea pigs are herd animals, and rather social (Or so I have read) and are better kept in pairs, or trios... but I was wondering...
I noticed the other day my water was rather cloudy so I decided to do a small water change and see how that works. I was dumping tank water down the sink, which is a white sink, and noticed the water is tinted green. I am thinking this is algal bloom on account I've been trying to keep the tank...
Well, cycling with fish is a bit stressful on the fish, but I did it that way because I didn't know about a fishless cycle at the time. Just monitor the water and be prepared to change some of the water well.. just about daily.
Do you have a tank you can but the fish back in? What was the guppy...
On a side note -
If you guys are really into movies that each scene is a work of art, I HEAVILY suggest 'The Secret of Kells'.
The whole thing is hand drawn and breath taking. I simply loved it. It's a bit different...
Hi! I'm not sure how fond you guys are of the cartoons sorts, but I LOVE animated movies. I have recently been introduced to Howl's moving castle, Spirited Away, Ponyo, and Princess mononoke, which is different than what I'm used to, but I love them all! I was wondering if there is any others...
When I got my second betta, he randomly had a spot and a few tears on his fins. They have all healed up quite nicely. Nothing a bit of clean water and TLC didn't fix.
