It very well may be, but just to clarify -since you said you might be looking at the wrong spots- here are the same images, but with the new colors circled.    Its just a dark red color that stands out from the rest of the diatoms...     Thanks for your help.

Thank you very much! After some more investigating, you're exactly right about your ID. I'm very relieved to see that it won't harm my torch coral. 

So this morning, I look in my new tank, and I see a little red creature quickly pop out of the base of my torch euphilia. I can only describe it as looking like a marine venus fly trap- and if I get to close or move quickly while observing it, it disappears into my torch coral! I can only see it...
