Definitely don't use paper clips. They will most certainly rust and foull your water. I agree with ninjouzata the silicone can be simply removed with a razor when you want to remove it.

I got this stand and have two ten gallon tanks on it. It was 17 dollars at target. I got it on sale tho. Hope you make lots of money on your iPod lol

I ordered mine from petsmart. 10 gallon kit was 29 bucks. Try Craigslist my dad got a great deal on there for his 55 gallon and 180 gallon setups. Lots of people just can't keep up with the hobby and will sell the whole thing for cheap.

Haha. My dad just got his first ever tank and its saltwater 55 gallons. 3 weeks later my mom calls me to say he just got a 180 gallon. It's so funny cause when I lived there he was always getting on my back about the little 36 gallon bow I had Asa kid lol

Hi looks like a good plan, I have that same tank heater and thermometer. I use it for a qt tank.. And that heater keeps it toasty, I sometimes have to unplug it during the day

Biiiiiig disaster today! I was walking in my living room and stepped in a pretty sizable puddle....PANIC! I quickly unplug all my filters lights heaters, etc. the upper two tanks are bone dry and I notice my bottom 10 gallon is all wet around the lower trim... So I quickly move all my girls...

Some kill pathogens in the water and they also kill free floating algae (green water) and clear up cloudy water. My water has been very cloudy since I put the wood in and it cleared up a lot since I started using the sterilizer. The one I got is only 9 watts so it probably won't kill many...

Woah! This little uv sterilizer is really amazing. My water is looking pretty good already, it has been running since about 7 pm yesterday (about 14 hours) and I see a big difference already. I'm going to wait till its 24 hour and than take a pic.

So I got my uv sterilizer today, it's all hooked up I'm going to take a picture each day so I can see if it works, and haw fast. I made a few changes in my tank but no way am I posting pics till it clears up a bit.

I live in a city and you can actually smell and taste the chemicals in the tap water. It's gross my dad just installed an RO unit at his house and offered that I can fill up some 5 gallon jugs to bring home. I might just do that.

I have a question about that python thing. How do you dechlorinate the water if it goes straight from the tap to the tank? I skeptical about dechlorinating after the water is in the tank. Seems like it could screw up the bacteria and stress the fish. I just fill it up one gallon at a time and...

Hi Barbara, sorry for your loss, and I agree with everyone else that she was probably very happy at the end of her life being in your care.

I used Tera safe start, raised my temp to 82 F and had my filter going full force. Also added a bubble stone to add some more movement, and put a few flakes of food a day. I was cycled in 17 days.. But like skies said.... It all depends on your local water source.

  I thought duckweed was a floating plant? I think it is a floating plant. Like little green leaves that float on the surface. Not sure tho. I'm just learning all of this myself Where are you located dreamer

I just got 4 black Japanese trapdoor snails. They are adorable. Also they are livebearers so they aren't as prolific as many other snails... They get kinda large tho

Yeah I woke up this morning and it grew, I was going to pull it off but my new snails are devouring it like cotton candy.
