Final update! (Unless everything starts going wrong)   Can no longer see any signs of the ulcer, and his scales appear to be growing back aswell

From personal experience, this looks like Dropsy in my opinion. Our betta contracted it a month or so ago, and unfortunately he didn't survive it. If it is dropsy (and please, don't just trust my advice on this, I haven't been fishkeeping as long as other members on here.) as far as I know...

Yeah, I'm really pleased with how fast the treatment worked. I wasn't expecting such a fast change at all. His attitude towards this aswell probably helped - he's still buzzing around as energetically as ever. - Although I did notice his sleeping pattern change, probably he's finding it...

Day three of treatment:     Middle of the ulcer appears to have vanished, leaving red flesh. Is this a good or bad sign?   His fin also appears to look burnt? And shriveled? Myxazin treats fin rot, but it looks like he's developed it during treatment?

What do you mean by 'ulcer not being open'? (: Sorry, completely new to treating ulcers. Cant get ahold of any hydrogen peroxide any time soon, but will keep up regular water changes and meds

This evening the ulcer has become slightly flaky, not fuzzy, and appears to have a small red dot on the edge of it, which looks like it might have bled. Will get photographs tomorrow evening, but is this normal?

I'm using 'water life fin rot and ulcers', which contains myxazin. These treatments are usually quite good, so fingers crossed

From personal experience:   I've had a betta very similar to this. You might see him go a shade lighter again, or perhaps develop some turquoise tone to him. Its just a matter of waiting :'D

  I'm meausring the temperature with a thermometer and also did with my hand. Right now I've got a flow and by hand it is all the same temp. I've fixed the problem with the filter and everything should be fine now. I don't know if the flow is too strong for him but he seems to enjoy it, hope so...

Here's the last of the three fighters we bought. He was terrified for about a week, and with those Danios, I dont blame him. But he's happy enough now, swimming around like he owns the place.

Sadly, he passed away. My next method of treatment would have been a complete blackout on the tank to reduce stress, but it never got that far.

He's now worse, any further suggestions would be appreciated

I'll do that. He's not eating, no. Havent seen him poop, as he's spending a lot of time hiding. I'm using medication to treat fin rot.

UPDATE: water changed 10%. added aquarium salt to the tank, turned off the lights.

I wouldn't say he "recovered" but one of my fighters experienced severe buoyancy problems, to the point where he'd just lay on his side at the top of the tank. However, he lived for the following 4 months in a improved state, able to stay upright - however he couldn't leave the top of the water...
