Can I just say, my Swordtail didn't turn out to be pregnant, se had a server illness, although we are not sure what it was. It caused her scales to stick up and bloated her stomach. It was awful when we found her dead :-(

Linking to my other question, my female swordtail has very suddenly changed shape. She is more boxy shaped and fatter. Is she pregnant, or jet weird? :P Also if she is pregnant, how long until she gives birth? Thanks :)
I would just use which ever technique is less stressful and painful for the fish. I personally think the clove oil is a god idea, freezing to death would be a painful and not very nice way to go in my opinion :-( xx

I have had my female swordtail (Tigger) for quite some time now (over 4 months) She is in the tank with two male swordfish and she has not yet produced any fry. But she has a dark gravid spot, but it has always been dark. Please can anyone tell me why that might be? Thanks :)
