    Malaysian Trumpet Snails

Happy day, I have had the same sort of population boom and collapse in my 15g for years. I thought if I added two assassin snails that it might help things or, perhaps, cause the MTS to stop their reckless breeding and instead unite against a common cause. Maybe they would develop defense...

    Blue lobster/crayfish query

Oh, I do forage diving all the time in my refrigerator and once, in a back corner of the freezer, I found some Mysis shrimp. At $5 a pack, this was a good find. The two desiccated ribeyes were not such a great find.

    A verbose hello

Oh aye, and I spread the condition on to my son, who uses it to victimize professors and debate opponents endlessly. Perhaps that last bit there is not the proper way to refer to his mother. I live in a part of the globe where we rely upon sunshine for our tax revenues. To even think of...

    A verbose hello

Ah, some clarifying commentary. In the 5g tank, on the left is a dario dario, center is the alleged tiger dario, center is an oto, and at the top is a failed experiment of using straws to keep the Damnit Duckweed from completely overtaking the tank. Someone else in my house thinks its litter...

    A verbose hello

Happy day and thank you all for your warm welcome. Yes, the 125 is an eclectic tank and the blue-spot sunfish keep away from the angel because of its size. I wondered if they might become nippy, but they live in the shadows and the angel is too big for such nonsense. That the decorus seems to...

    Blue lobster/crayfish query

I removed a bunch of red root floaters last night and this little fellas was staring at me in a most accusing manner, so I did what all pet owners do and tossed in a food stick.

    A verbose hello

Happy day, I've had the pleasure...ok, mostly pleasure...of keeping fish alive for 35 years. I currently have four tanks, and am planning a fifth tank with malice aforethought, much to my wife's eventual chagrin. Currently I have: 125 planted community tank that currently houses a messload...

    New tank lighting conundrum

Happy day, Thank you in advance for the time you spent reading this post. I'm going to be setting up a tank on my desk in the office. I'd like to do a neocardia shrimp tank and have a bit of vertical space for something else later on. I currently have a UNS 5N, and its great for its...

    12L (3ish Gallon) Tank Ideas

I second the opinion of an earlier poster who mentioned the pygmy sunfish. Either the Okefenokee Pygmy Sunfish or Gilberti would do well. I found them at Sachs and put five in a 5g tank. Ended up with two males and three females. You could also do an endler or two.

    Blue lobster/crayfish query

If they are anything like the dwarf crays, they are doing it to annoy you. They have a mischevious streak a mile wide and twice as long. One will drag bits of chollo wood around my tank and play silly buggers with the ono. The ono will be doing his dopey snarfling routine and a cray seems to...

I got a crayfish by mistake. please help

I have a couple of them and they are shy until I put a few food sticks in. This morning I did the Crab Cuisine and the crays come barreling in. I have them in a 5g with some neocardias, 1 tiger badis, 2 dario dario, an oto and a few okefenokee pygmy sunfish. Anyway, you may not see it for...

First Time Planted Tank Cycling: Algae(?) issue!

First off, that looks like the beginnings of a gorgeous tank that will bring you years of enjoyment and fun. The driftwood resembles either a fuzzy cat paw or newbrown chick of some preadatory bird. Kinda cool. :) The tank is just 2 weeks old. A lot of biological parts have come together and...

Can I make a walstad set up in a 1/4-1/2 gallon jar??

If you like micro projects like this, you might also enjoy the YT channel, Life in Jars. I've had one going for about 6 months. Totally closed system. Pretty neat stuff. I use the Walstadt method in a 5G and think what you've show is looking great. Another YT fellow has a channel called Foo...

    Fin rot or fin nipping?

Happy day...I apologize to the original poster, @SABWARNER16 , for inserting my own drama into his post.

    Fin rot or fin nipping?

I'm interested in this issue as well. I bought a betta from a breeder and it looked amazing. After 2 months, Angus' fins began to deteriorate. Tankmates were 5 harlequin rasboaras, 2 endlers, 2 dwarf banjo cats, a cory a mess of shrimp and a scarlet badis. Despite emptying the 15gl planted...
