    Lids

Yes, and by over time, meaning in a week. I had one, kept flipping it over as it sagged, but the hinge opened one way, only raised a little the other way to squeeze some food through.

I’m hoping those flourish tabs make a difference.

    36 gallon bowfront

Thank you. Yes, it is. That’s not the original light but a programmable Current USA Satellite. The one that came with it was pathetic and the first thing to go.

    36 gallon bowfront

Hi, I am putting this out there for input. This is my 36 gallon glass bowfront. It has been set up just over a year. 8 cherry barbs (1 born in tank) 4 neon tetra 5 harlequin rasbora 6 endlers (5 of these are juveniles) 2 or 3 mystery snails 2 tiger nerite snails 1 Hillstream loach (add to...

    What tank should I get?

Yes, I am near Fort Lauderdale so that is likely. My tap water is roughly the same pH. The tanks without cichlid substrate and limestone drift towards 6 without intervention. Perhaps I will make another thread…

Saw this beautiful Arowana at our lps a few weeks back

It’s a substitute they were using for swearing for a time.

    What tank should I get?

My rainwater has a pH of 6.4 to 6.6 (I don’t remember which).

Saw this beautiful Arowana at our lps a few weeks back

Yes, it is sad. All the bettas with long flowing fins that have to struggle so hard to get to food and the surface. Not to mention how they start out in life with those little cups and some are half dead in the store. You might get it to survive in the short run but the damage is done and their...

Saw this beautiful Arowana at our lps a few weeks back

Is there a reason other than people want to match their decor or like bright colors?

    Geophagus and sand sifting

You can get mats for under the sand/substrate to match it, and then you wouldn’t have exposed bare glass from their digging or risk of hardscape hitting the glass with their shenanigans.

    What are you doing today?

I thought I was being original with the band. I must have been subconsciously copying you. Oops.

    What are you doing today?

Nice of you to donate. As we get older our body makes less oils and our hair gets drier with more breakage that could be thinning it out. You could try Pantene conditioner, if you want your luscious locks back. :band:

    Goldfish advice needed.

Well in thaaat case… let me help you out. The goldfish should have at least 5 friends at 75 gallons for the first fish and 50 gallons each thereafter. Therefore, you will need a minimum of 325 gallons. (You know I’m making this all up, right?)

Side of aquarium cracked is it a concern?

And if it shatters… sorry man, I was just kidding, I didn’t mean you should take a hammer to a glass aquarium, what did you think would happen?:unsure::no:

    Goldfish advice needed.

Awww, poor little guy (gal?). I have to admit I don’t know much about goldfish except that they put out a lot of ammonia. I think you know all this but I’m going to throw this on here anyway. :phttps://www.fishkeepingacademy.com/how-to-reduce-ammonia-in-a-fish-tank/?expand_article=1 it makes me...

He even beat the upper range of 10 years. Good job, JB!

Side of aquarium cracked is it a concern?

Hmmm, a scratch hadn’t occurred to me. If you can feel it by scratching a fingernail across it from both sides of the glass, it’s a crack all the way through. Hard to see how deep it is from a picture but it has some jagged continuations of the line, whatever it is, that makes it suspicious to...

    Molly sickness

I was trying to get you started until Colin came along but I defer to what Colin said. I know you’ve gotten different messages but he really knows his stuff. You can use temperature instead of salt. Raising the temp is a better option for the pleco. If you already used salt, when you do the 90%...

Side of aquarium cracked is it a concern?

I think most of us saw the chip and not the linear crack from it that goes almost the whole height of the tank near the seam. It’s visible in the third picture when you open it and look closer. That’s a bust waiting to happen.
  25. Endlersendlers

Side of aquarium cracked is it a concern?

See linear cracks in picture 3.
  26. Endlersendlers

Side of aquarium cracked is it a concern?

It won’t do much good. Aside from the chip that Francisco saw, you have linear fractures running along the seam, most visible in the last picture. You need a new tank. Edited to finish post that accidentally submitted early.

    It’s a calculated risk.

Side of aquarium cracked is it a concern?

Can whatever is underneath it be ok with a slow leak of 10 gallons? Petco did have 10 gallon tanks for 12.99 last I heard.

    Molly sickness

In addition to the water changes and temperature increase Captain recommends, you should thoroughly gravel vac the substrate to remove the cause of high nitrates, which is likely organic matter and over feeding, and use salt (instead of meds) to start treating the ich now rather than waiting...

    More Nerite Snail Eggs

If you really wanted to, you could try giving the eggs some brackish water to hatch, later slowly dilute the snails to freshwater. Never tried it but I haven’t seen any eggs to do so.
