    Crazyforcordoras 1St Reef Tank!

You two really need to slow down here. You look at my tank & it's full of corals, but that system is almost a year old AND goes through a very intensive maintenance regimen. Just take it easy. IMO, both of you are going too fast. SLOW DOWN! Just trying to protect the investment you've made...

    Aquagreen

Purty tank makes me happy with all the green. :) I really do like seeing glosso. Underused now. They promoted 1-2 grow at the last AGA convention. I'm sure they'll do more, as I think there are Tropica representatives going. L

    Llj's 8G Oceanic Biocube

Depends, $20 a polyp is not considered an unreasonable price for this palythoa. Depends on the market. Sometimes Armor of God will be more popular and then this one will come back in popularity. Right now, Armor of God is more popular, cause it's rarer and doesn't grow as fast. GOW grows really...

    Llj's 8G Oceanic Biocube

I got a couple things for this tank today... I traded some chaetomorpha to get a discount on these two items.. A really cool yuma, I think, but it's really small still. Hope it does ok. You can also see my Caribbean cucumber in the picture. Still going strong. Also got this palythoa/zoa...

    Llj's Running Quarantine Thread...

Hi I have a quarantine tank. Right now, it's the following... 4g rimless tank Aquaclear 30 running without media Koralia 425, I think, could be a 220, not sure Substrate: 1.5" of oolite sand Liverock: for decoration Flora: various macro algae I don't take this tank's decor very...

K isn't a light intensity, but a color temperature indication. Here is an excerpt from Jeasko's lighting article which was pinned here recently that explains Kelvin better than I could.

Pearls Of The Antilles... Llj's Planted Marine

This problem came out of nowhere. Otherwise the reef was in great shape. Sometimes this happens with macro algae. It's made me change the type of powerheads I use. I've abandoned Koralias for Aqueons. I want to see how they perform. So far, I'm impressed. L

    Not Quite The Netherlands

Well, in a nutshell, yes, I think. The point is, I get the very quality terminal bud point on all stems. When you start branching, and branching heavily, the quality of the points diminish somewhat. I also think the stems weaken after some point when you prune it that way. That scape lasted...

    Tyler's 90Gallon Reef Project

Tank is gorgeous, stand is gorgeous. OMG, the lighting does stink... Still... You can make a great reef out of softies until you get the upgrade. Otherwise, what a bargain! You got that tank for what most people spend on Biocubes with rubbish lighting anyway, so pat yourself on the back.

    Not Quite The Netherlands

When I received the stems, I planted 2-3 stem clumps in a line extending from the back left corner that then crossed in front of the stargrass. I wanted that effect. That's the thing in Dutch. It isn't just a clump of plants and that's it. They are often arranged to form "streets" and shapes...

    Not Quite The Netherlands

You should achieve an effect. See... The prettiest part of the plant are the tips, they'll often change colors or "blush" as I call it. If you create different sizes, IMO, you keep the tips at different areas of the plant instead of just the top if you cut it all the same length...

Pearls Of The Antilles... Llj's Planted Marine

Awwww thanks, I liked having a biotope, but I also have to think about making this tank very low-maintenance for my family. Low-maintenance does not include regularly pruning macro. Low-maintenance is a lightly stocked, fun reef with lots of movement and stupid easy corals. Showy stuff that...

    Bigtuna's Ocean In A Wall

Wow, and Saltnoob and I complain when our ocellaris charge us. They don't take chunks out. Be careful. A LFS owner that I see a lot always wears gloves when she's working in her tanks and sometimes a tomato clown can even bite through it, so I can imagine what a triggerfish can do. Yikes! L

A Question To The Reef Owner

I used Red Sea Coral Pro salt mix. Not gonna lie, it's expensive, but I've been very pleased with the consistency of my reefs and the quality of salt of each bucket. It's designed for people who use RO/DI water though. When I keep my salinity at 1.026, and with the water changes I typically do...

    Tiny Tank Advice

If you're a fish novice, I don't mean to sound harsh, but I wouldn't start out with a tank that small and certainly not with any coldwater species that I'm aware of. You can possibly keep a betta (not coldwater) comfortably in that size of a tank, but you have to be up on the maintenance and...
