Not the greatest, but here are a few pictures of the new guy. He is very inquisitive, swimming all over the tank, exploring every nook and cranny, and saying hi every now and then to his roomies.

He made it safely, looks really good! I acclimated him and just now put him in his tank. I'll try to snap a picture later this evening, as I have the lights off for now. Looks like he's exploring through all his plants.

He should be arriving in the next few hours. He is just a few miles away at the UPS facility.

The rib eye was amazing. Had some roasted rosemary potatoes and a caesar salad with it.

Thanks! According to the labels, some are a type of anubias and some are a type of fern (java and narrow leaf). All these plants are glued to either a rock, wood, or the pagoda. The rib eye was deeeelicious. And here is a picture of the betta from the website. They say the pictures they post...

Just finished setting up a new betta tank. And now I'm going to eat a nice juicy rib eye.

So last Friday, I ordered a betta online. He's a 15 week old Galaxy Koi Halfmoon. Being the procrastinator that I am, I waited until the day (today!) that I got the email notification that he was shipped out and due to arrive tomorrow before I got his tank set up. I have had a 10 gallon running...

I agree that it looks to be a praecox rainbowfish.

The first time I realized what was happening to them, I got so upset. But I got over it by dinner time.

My granddad raised calves when I was a kid, and I loved visiting him (and them). He lived near Gettysburg, PA, so it was a 2.5 hour drive whenever we went. I always named every single calf, but never saw any of them more than once. 😔 🥩 😋

Sorry, I put one too many n's in his name. It's Glen S. Axelrod. According to LinkedIn, he's the President/CEO of TFH Publications, which was founded by Herbert Axelrod in 1952.

Just curious, when you all are referring to Axelrod, is that Herbert or Glenn? I have Glenn Axelrod's (& Brian Scott) Encyclopedia of Exotic Tropical Fishes. But it was Herbert who had the legal troubles, right? I also have Freshwater Aquariums for Dummies. 😂
