    Help, Algae eating fish needed

Agree with the previous posts - deal with the root cause or causes first. Once you’ve figured out what’s caused the bloom ( lighting, overfeeding etc ) then you should see a reduction. Here’s a list of algae eaters but bear in mind that your stuck with them when the algae’s gone and it just adds...

    Where to start

Hi and welcome. If youve got an idea of what sort of tank your thinking of doing i.e planted, minimalist, cichlid etc then Google is your friend. Be thoughful with your search string ie I would use “ Tank aquascaping+ cichlid+Malawi+ artificial plants“ There’s loads of channels on you tube and...

    Best filter

+1 to Eheim, Ive used them for 25 years and find they have a great range whatever ( hob, internal, ext) you want. Bulletproof and if you do ever need to call them up they seem to just send a replacement to keep the customer happy

    Aquarium backgrounds

Yeah theres some unusual ones on. As I’ve moved into bigger tanks ive edged towards painting as I wanted to create a more natural environment and personally think the images look fake. but considering I have plastic plants it’s not the strongest arguement

    Aquarium backgrounds

I did used to have printed images now I use Blackboard paint. It goes on really well. If you need an image take one to a local printer like prontaprint and they can print out a custom size. Then as the previous poster said, get it laminated

    Tetras for a new tank

Some Tetras can be very sensitive to water changes so the below list is a good guide of hardy fish to put in a newly cycled tank. Its more important to get the tank stable that hit your wish list of fish straight away . Good First Fish Barbs: Cherry, Gold, Rosy, Ruby, Purple, and Tico Barbs...

    Fluval Prism

My Fluval shopping has just landed. I used to have a Kessil on my marine tank and I do really like the led ‘shimmer’ I used to get it from the Fluval Bluetooth LEDs on my 100l but with the new 450l I don’t. Ive also had a bit of a move and made a mountain type focus point for the fish to lay...
