Platy remain at bottom of the tank

Swim bladder CAN make the belly appear bigger, but not all the time. It’s good that he still had the energy to eat.. I say feed him the pea for two days, then fast him for a day (don’t feed anything) so all the food can pass. Then repeat the process if he isn’t better. Swim bladder can be caused...

Platy remain at bottom of the tank

Try to get him to eat peas. All your fish can eat peas. I feed my goldfish peas everyday to make sure they don’t get swim bladder problems. To get the peas read just get a bowl with water and put 1-3 peas in it, microwave it for 15-30 seconds, then peel the skin off. Just squish the pea near the...

    Feeding small guppies

I feed my guppies and other community fish frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. It’s totally fine. I usually put the frozen cube in a little container with tank water to thaw out, then pour it in slowly to make sure they eat it all. Just make sure not to feed to much! Sometimes there’s a lot...

Platy remain at bottom of the tank

It could be a swim bladder problem. When he swims up to get food does it look like he’s dragged back to the bottom ? Other than that how old is he ?

    More likely to jump?

I’ve really only kept plakats, I’ve never had one jump besides when they get excited for feedings. Sometimes fish will jump if the water is off. Check your water and make sure everything is good, long fin betta can still jump I just don’t know how likely it would be with those long dragging fins...

    White Algae After Water Change

Sometimes during a water change snails can get upset and leave trails, if you have any snails. Other than that they could be tiny white worms called Planaria. They aren’t harmful, they will go away on their own. Try looking closely with a magnifying glass if you can, they may be little worms...

    10 gallon stocking questions

It all depends on your Betta and what fish your planning to put in. I’ve had Betta fish in community tanks with neons, some guppies, and other mixes of fish. Be careful when it comes to guppies tho, as the males have large colorful fins which your betta could mistake for another betta. I’ve kept...

    Hydra in my tank.

It's a show quality fancy goldfish, and its good to hear they wont harm the goldfish. I'm planning to breed them but not anytime soon because I'm moving in a little over a year.

Never seen this before... "clamped" betta fins

Not betta fish, but my guppies have had clamped fins. For me it usually has something to do with the water perimeters so i just do a 20-40 percent water change and in a day I see a difference in their fins.

    Hydra in my tank.

I have a planted tank I just noticed hydra in. I have copepods which I'm not worried about. It has been cycling for about a month. I'm planning to get goldfish soon.. spending at least 150 dollars on one. At least 5-6 inches. Will the hydra harm it? Should I wait to buy the fish until the hydra...
