Yep, dyed and tattooed fish are still legal as long as they are not dyed or tattooed in the EU which is a shame as they are horrible and the process is so cruel. At least GM'd fish don't feel it properly! They are injected with jellyfish genes and such when still in the egg whereas dyed and...

Ch4lie they weren't these were they? If they were then they are perfectly legal(unfortunately) as they are Dyed Glass Fish.     These are Glo-Fish. Proper ones.

Can you get them to flare? They both look like PK(short tailed, Plakat) Males but a flare will confirm that. If only the gill covers pop out then they are female, if the whole beard pops out(under the face) then they are male.   For reference, here's my old PK male and some of my females.   PK...

I used to dream about my tanks and fish all the time, more recent matters have taken over now like personal life :lol: Though I still dream about my fish, I dream that I look into the tank and it's empty and they are swimming around the room with me hehe.

Glo-Fish are illegal in the UK due to the fact that they are Genetically Modified.

I'd add the most aggressive last. Hence why my Nannacara are going in last :lol: They are cichlids after all :)

Yep, Celebes Rainbowfish(Marosatherina ladigesi) :) They are beautiful fish and I would love some but I unfortunately no longer own a 3ft tank to keep them in :lol:

Yeah, the other reason for baking is because if you don't then the soil releases a huge amount of ammonia into the water. Baking reduces and sometimes completely removes this ammonia release :) That's why it's best to add it to a cycled tank as then if it does release ammonia, the filter takes...

No, it needs baking(which mineralizes it) to convert the organic meterials into things the aquatic plants can use as they are currently no good for the aquatic plants :)

Thanks NC :) Here's some updated photo's of the 24l and some close ups of the plants. The short plant is Vallisneria spiralis not Sagittaria subulata lol. I put the Dymax Robot LED on for these photo's to give an impression of how it will look after this weekend rather than the horrible yellow...

I have Hygrophila polysperma(and have had it before) and that grows pretty quickly once it get's going :) Hygrophila difformis is another pretty fast growing one but is better left floating I have found and so it blocks out a lot of light for other plants.

  Not entirely true if you have something to stir the sand ;) AKA, Malaysian Trumpet Snails :) I have just set-up my two soil tanks with sand so will keep an eye on this journal :)

I finally managed to get something done with my tanks on Tuesday 10th September so here's the journal I promised you all.   The tank - 87l.   Dimensions: 76L x 30W x 38H cm - 87 Litres filled to the very top with no displacement. Lighting: 2x LED Clip-On Lights - Tank currently has one of these...
