Well, there's baby brine shrimp in the frozen food section of your lfs that would be good for new fry, but I don't think you can get it at wal-mart. The simplest thing is to just crush some flake food into a powder, I've had good luck with it.

Some algaes are the result of elevated levels of phosphate or nitrate. You may want to test these levels and increase the frequency of your water changes if they are high.
