    Clown Loach Acting Strange

I'm no expert but that sounds like spawning behavior. I believe clown loach breeding in tanks is rare, I'm not sure. I'm sure someone else can give some info I just wanted to say if it is, you should make a journal cause that would be an awesome read!

    What's The Stuff Growing?

Great. I feel I did a substantial amount of research before buying the aqua clear and planned on buying another one but if I'm understanding right, that wouldn't even be sufficient?

    What's The Stuff Growing?

I'm not sure how to determine the flow rate but Its a 75 gallon tank and its got one aquaclear 110 filter. I was going to ask if I needed to up my filtration. I was planning on it eventually, just when I get the extra money.

    What's The Stuff Growing?

Okay, first of all thank you so much for the info. I want to make sure I do this right, after googleing blue green algae and seeing how it can overtake a tank! Forgive me if I sound like a noob. First step, remove all visible algae. Then clean and do a water change. Leave the lights off for 3...

    What's The Stuff Growing?

Thank you for the reply. Will do. Any suggestions on how to get my java fern that's on the bottom to grow without co2? I have one that's closer to the top that's growing nice but the one on the bottom hasn't grown at all and its been in there for at least three months. That's why I started...

    New 50 Gallon 4 Footer

I would do 3 gouramis, 1 male, 2 female. Maybe a shoal of 7 or so Coradoras and harlequins or I have gold barbs and their awesome. Or skip the gouramis and do hatchets. I'd say get a shoal for the bottom and one or two for the middle/top and maybe a few select centerpiece fish. In my 75 I have 1...

    What's The Stuff Growing?

It's growing in the java moss but its growing most where the water comes out of the filter. Anyone know what it is and if I should leave or remove? It seems to be growing quick! I started leaving the lights on for 12 hours instead of the usual eight to promote plant growth.. Obviously that's...

    Its Been A While

Clown loaches get way too big for a 130 liter tank. I would suggest some Kuhli loaches, maybe six or so. They would give you some orange.. Maybe get some more danios, a different type.

    Corys Eating Snails?

Well on a closer look, that smudge is where cory eggs were! Their are 2 left. The colder water change this morning must have caused them to spawn? Scratch that, the last 2 eggs just got eaten. I feel a little dumb now lol, I still think their eating snails

    Corys Eating Snails?

Hi guys, I just thought I'd post about this. I don't know if anyone has had the same experience. Both my tanks had pest snails in them and I see them all the time in my 75 gallon, but after adding 7 cories (brochis splendens) to my 29 gallon I haven't seen many, maybe one. When I woke up my mom...

    New Tank (lots Of Questions)

Hi, I would say pick either the ottos or kuhlis since their both very social and you will need to have larger numbers. In my 29 gallon I started with 2 kuhlis in and never saw them! Added 5 more and I saw them all the time, they feel way more comfortable in groups of 6+ and you'll see them more...

    Fish Pictures!

Thanks :) I can't wait to see how he takes to them. I've had just the one for awhile, I've had a really hard time finding pandas around here. I'm really excited.

Long Winded 8 Ft Tank Thread

Haha I know how that is! I have tons of places to hide, but all my catfish insist on cramming on one side of the tank and fighting for spots when there are a whole bunch on the other side of the tank.

    Fish Pictures!

**videos** My little panda cory doing laps! lol I took that video about an hour ago and he/she is still doin laps! He gets along great with my rope fish and I'm adding 6 more pandas in the next few days, I hope he likes them! My Rummynose tetra and Harlequin rasboras. The tank was...

    Ghost Knife Fish

Thank you :) However, I've already taken him back to the shop. Didn't want to give it a bad life in too small of a tank.. but I couldn't help thinking someone will buy him and have a smaller tank than me and be way undereducated  I felt really bad.

Fish One End Of The Tank

The same thing happened to me! My rummies would stay really low, huddled right in the middle. I turned off my airstones one day for some reason and they were all over. I've only had em for like 3 weeks so I'm happy I figured it out. And I'm happy you figured it out!

    Suggestions On My Scape?

Hey guys, I just wanted to update how my tanks going. I've add some more wood, and some fish, a new light. I still need to paint the back though. Add more plants too. Just wanted to know what everyone thinks :) The bottom java fern hasn't grown at all since I got it :X

    Corydoras Or Ottos?!

Corys! As long as the substrate is fine/soft. My pandas are awesome, so social and active.

    Reed/rope Fish

I would not be too quick to take advice from shop owners. Adult fire eels can get over 2 feet as well as the rope fish. Most would advise 120 gallon plus for adult fire eels. I would say do a lot of research after receiving advice from the LFS to prove or disprove, to promote the welfare of the...

    Reed/rope Fish

I only bought one before I really knew anything about them. I've read if you keep one for a while it may not take kindly if you try to introduce more so I just stuck with my one, I'd feel better if I would have gotten a few and introduced them at the same time. Honestly phantomlink, I would...

    Reed/rope Fish

I love rope fish! I have one in a 4 foot tank and he may be my favorite fish. I understand they are different in terms of behavior and aggression. Mine is in with a shoal of rummynoses and a shoal of harlequins and some would advise against that, but mine may be the most docile and timid fish I...

I Finally Bought A Quarantine Tank!

I would say you should do large water changes, maybe 50 percent everyday or every other day and vaccum the gravel for two weeks in the main tank if there are no signs just to be safe. When I first started fishkeeping and my 30 gallon had ich, I would stop with daily water changes as soon as I...

I Finally Bought A Quarantine Tank!

I may be wrong, but you should treat the whole tank even if no signs are present on the other fish. If you did get rid of it in the 5 gallon, then reintroduced into the main tank they will just get it again.

    Gouramis Acting A Bit Strange

Thanks guys, they have since been better. Really normal and friendly. I do give bloodworms once in a while. I'm still going to take one to a LFS and look into getting two females.
