Hello, from new Member - Brandon

Cherry barbs will be just fine in that tank. They are not aggressive, especially when you have a good sized group of them like you have.

    150 gallon shapping up nicely.

    Wow that's not fun.

Oh well. :) Thanks for your help! Also I just realized that ACC makes absolutely no sense for Aquarium Co Op. For some reason my brain thought it did....

Thanks but I think I will just get some plants while already buying from Aquarium Co Op. :) It does look amazing though so I might want some down the road. I think that I have decided I want to do dwarf saggitaria and Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus. I think they both look great and seem easy to...

Aquarium Co Op. Did you see the edited version of my previous post? It might have made sense if you had. ;)

Hmm ACC doesn't sell that. They do flat rate shipping so I would like to just order from them while I'm at it lol. That hornwort looks AMAZING though. The tank does as well.

@eatyourpeas what plant is that in your tank in the background? The one that looks like it's taking over lol. Also how tall does it grow? Edit: I am ordering fertilizer from Aquarium Co op and I am thinking about getting a plant or 2 as well. I want to ask about a few. I specifically want fast...

Tell me about Malaysian Trumpet Snails

What other snails could keep gravel clean? I would WANT them to breed so I don't have to buy like 8 nerites lol, but I don't want them to get out of control THAT much. I have been wondering the same thing @WhistlingBadger.

An Odd Case of Fin Rot

Hmm interesting. Thank you for letting me know! I have been wondering, and I knew that if it was pointy itwas male but I wasn't sure how pointy was pointy lol. Yeah I don't know how I got lucky with the fighting thing, but I did. :dunno:

    Help With A Rescued Betta

If you can get some floating plants they are GREAT at using up ammonia. Any fast growing plant will, really.

    Help With A Rescued Betta

Hmm bettas should have at least 5 gallons... think about getting a bigger tank. With such a small tank the ammonia will go up FAST. Dechlorinator does not kill fish unless you use like 5 times the dose rate. Yes spring water does work, but you then have to add things back into it. I forget what...

    Help With A Rescued Betta

The new water will be a million times better for him as long as there is no chlorine in it. You need to do water changes whenever the ammonia gets above 0ppm. Ammonia is extremely toxic to fish, so he willike as much new water as you can give him. What size is the tank?
  17. Kyle E.

Hello fish people, meet my fish fam!

Wow! How did you cycle the new tank so fast? That is amazing how he survived that ordeal.
  18. Kyle E.

    Help With A Rescued Betta

Why has no one commented on the .75ppm ammonia? That fish is dying of ammonia poisoning right now. Do several water changes until it gets down to zero. These will be necessary for a while until the tank cycles. Do you know about cycling a tank? Add some floating plants like frogbit to help use...

An Odd Case of Fin Rot

How long do you think that would take? Added: How long do I need to wait between salt treatments? I would like to add salt while keeping him off of the gravel, but I did salt for 4 weeks at a rate of 1.5 teaspoons per gallon and ended that about 1-2 weeks ago.

    Raphael catfish

I would suggest not getting live tubifex. They are known as sludge worms and VERY frequently carry diseases.

Oh and also, the frogbit has grown more roots, but I did see the DG biting one of them off. :/ This is not a regular occurrence though and I didn't feed them yesterday so I guess I need to keep them well fed until it grows enough to survive the occasional munching.

I have never looked for them, but I would assume they are also available at your standard aquarium/pet store.

Sorry I was going to add more but then I had to go eat lol. No @eatyourpeas I am not yet. I am quite sure I will order Aquarium Co Op easy-green root tabs and liquid tomorrow, but who knows when it will get here. I have 2 amano shrimp but all they do is hide under the sword. :/ They keep the...

An Odd Case of Fin Rot

I have not ever seen them fight. They would if the DG challenged the betta back, but the DG just lets the betta run the tank. The tulle fabric is a mesh fabric. I believe it would be fine but I will research. I have tulle, I do not have a mesh breeder. By heal up completely do mean the rot...

An Odd Case of Fin Rot

I did not realize ammonia could damage the tail. That may very well be how he got it at the pet shop in the tiny cups. I have a tetra whisper 40 HOB. I clean the filter by washing the media in the bucket of tank water when I do a water change. Just to keep it from getting clogged up with poo...
