Yer basic single sponge filter I’d agree with but double barrelled/Shotgun sponge filters are the most beautiful filters available in the hobby. Design classics and cooler than cool. I probably wouldn’t use them for a big fish producing masses of waste though.

Stick some water lettuce and/or water sprite in to float on the top. It’s great for water quality and to shade him from the light and worry of predators. Will he fit into those plastic buildings?

Reds in one tank and blues in the other is the aim. Though I keep finding reds in the blue tank. Doesn’t happen the other way round. Reds seem to be the default offspring. I figure once they’re divided properly I can move any excess to snail tanks and sell em on.

No black n white fish in this house. Ever. My Mosquito Fish are very plain looking which I suppose when you’re the 7th smallest fish on the planet is advisable. Even in a moderately planted 15G it sometimes takes a few minutes to see any. Best of luck to em.

Hi Water lettuce and Frogbit. They’re both floating plants so help enormously with water quality and diffusing bright light.
