    Today's a new day.

Hi everyone, Broke my parents' deal again... :( But we're not talking about that. Chameleon shrimp cost $6 each at a LFS and Darwin algae shrimp $5 at a pond shop. The shop did not have algae shrimp in stock, but hopefully they will get them back in stock. The aquarium shops of Perth cannot get...

    Today's a new day.

Just did a water change with my carer today. It was easy and I think I did a good job with it. Will feed the tetras now.

    Today's a new day.

The tetras are doing okay today. I'm looking after them and will do a water change with my carer when she comes. I will feed them again half an hour after the water change. I will focus on the bigger tank for my cardinals later after I have done the 10 litre. I understand that there are unfair...

    Thinking of getting pet mice

Two family dogs. Mum and dad usually care for them.

    Today's a new day.

Thank you. I will continue to write my day-by-day diary on the thread.

    Today's a new day.

The tanks are near the kitchen, not in the living room. I can ask the carer to help doing the water changes. :) I can focus on water changes first, then the shrimp.

    Today's a new day.

I understand that. I am doing a water change later in the day, as I mentioned to you before. Dad's busy doing the living room floorboards at the moment. But I have a carer coming at 3:30pm my time.

    Today's a new day.

Sorry... :( I understand that you're disappointed in me, but I had to focus on other things too. I am constantly busy all the time, which mean that I may not follow all advice from other members. I have a lot of work to do today, and focusing with family is one of them. Work is everywhere and I...

    Today's a new day.

I will do the water change later today, don't worry. But dad is busy at the moment. I forgot to mention about the water change in the Tuesday post. I have some things to focus on. I understand that you're disappointed at me, but I was watching a TV show at the time. I had to spend time with...

    Today's a new day.

It's Tuesday. Got up just in time (9am) for a TV show I watch often. Fed the fish before the rerun was aired and currently watching it right now. Calculating a paludarium's size after watching the show. Carer's coming today, might go to a LFS to price the chameleon shrimp. I have wrote a list...

    Today's a new day.

Thanks for the late welcome. Like I mentioned, silvertip and cardinal tetras. That's the fish I currently have. What's Wet Web Media?
  12. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

No, it's a Fluval gravel vac. The gravel vac is more controllable unlike the one you mentioned.

    Today's a new day.

Currently following @Colin_T 's advice on plants. The problem is the substrate is a bit short (3cm high slope on right side) because of the small tank (10 litre) size. I now understand the difference between marsh plants and aquatic plants. I am doing research on the plants I picked and their...

What small plants can fit a Petworx 10L tank?

I think Cardina sp. WA4 is the closest to the chameleon shrimp that a LFS has got.
  15. elephantnose3334

What small plants can fit a Petworx 10L tank?

Chameleon shrimp, not cherry shrimp because fish stores in my area doesn't sell them.
  16. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

I'm learning on how to do the things you mentioned. I watched the video Colin linked earlier and is helpful. I can gravel vac on a 40L aquarium, but need a smaller gravel vac for the 10L. I can try to clean the glass and scrape algae off, but I never done algae scraping before. The forum is a...

    Thinking of getting pet mice

I'm currently in the process of doing research about caring for mice. But that adoption will happen probably after I move out from my parents' home and getting my own property.

What small plants can fit a Petworx 10L tank?

Oh. I was thinking of putting freshwater moss on the dragonstone, but I understand on what you said earlier.

    Thinking of getting pet mice

I choose mice because they are friendly and I would try something new. They're cleaner than people used to think.

    Today's a new day.

I agree with the article Colin. Thanks for the good advice. Since it's a 10L aquarium, I'm doing small plants. Here is the vision of the aquascape below. And it's a fishless aquarium. Oh, the team at Vebas did not tell me that when discussing this plant. I thought it was a fully aquatic plant.

    Today's a new day.

Hi everyone, It's almost 5pm and thank you everyone, especially @AdoraBelle Dearheart, @Colin_T, @Essjay and @GaryE for your advice you gave to me earlier. I will feed the tetras for the second time in about an hour's time. I can understand that there are things I can work from in the hobby...

    Thinking of getting pet mice

Saw them at a pet shop today. I might want to adopt two female mice when I move out of my parents' house. I have a care guide from the pet shop and some of it is not good information. How will I prepare for getting pet mice? Am I ready to adopt them yet?

    Today's a new day.

I will write a journal once the 10 litre tank is ready to be built. Went to Vebas and priced the stuff out. For example, Lilaeopsis brasiliensis cost $8.50 per plant and a Leptochilus pteropus 'Windelov' on a rock also cost $8.50. Shrimp pellets cost $11.95 and 10 root tabs cost $22.95...

What small plants can fit a Petworx 10L tank?

I might add small dragonstone as the hardscape and thinking of doing it planted.

    Today's a new day.

Today's Monday. Putting the needs of my fish first. Woke up at 9am, fed the fish and getting some advice from TFF members. Sometimes, I need help from the hobby and I understand that people might criticise me. The family's assembling new floorboards for the living room, which may take all day or...

    Today's a new day.

I'm trying my best, but I wasn't daydreaming. I understand your advice.

    Today's a new day.

Hi @GaryE, @emeraldking and @Essjay, I'm trying my hardest to care for my fish. I understand Adora's advice and I will take it. I really need help in my hobby... :( I'm struggling at times, but I'll get there eventually. I did research before I got my fish a year ago. I will do the same for...

It's okay. I live in black swan country.

    Today's a new day.

Let's talk about the future 10L aquascape instead. It's my younger sister's former tank and a 22cm cube with 18.5 cm diameter of work space. the other 4.5cm is for filtration. The only thing missing is the heater. It's used for my younger sister's 40L tall aquarium. This thread is a diary about...

    Today's a new day.

Thanks for the motivation. I feel stressed when someone treats a fish like a decoration, but I never treat them like decor. I'm trying my best to be a good aquarist. Dad can't do it on Monday because he has something important in that day. And it's past bedtime tonight.
  31. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

I understand water changes, and hopefully I'll gravel vac on Tuesday. 5 from each species, cardinal and silvertip tetras remain since 1 silvertip died and 1 cardinal disappeared while I was feeding them brine shrimp one time. I agree on you. :)
  32. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

And yes @AdoraBelle Dearheart, I do care for the tanks, I just need help doing some stuff. I feel like I'm the black sheep of the forum. Like I said earlier, I don't want my thread to be turned into an argument. But I understand on what you said earlier. However, I am not good at some stuff on...

    Today's a new day.

You got me. :( Am I in trouble? I had to hide a secret, that I didn't reveal for a long time. I'm trying to learn. But yes, I was procrastinating for years, like I did when I had dogs. I wanted dogs, but I moved on from them since. I don't want that to happen in the aquarium hobby. I'm really...
  34. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Yes, I understand that. But I'm not going to give up the hobby like I did with art. Let's talk about the 10L 22cm cube fishless project instead. We're not turning the thread into an argument. I understand that I'm struggling, but I'll get there eventually. Aquarists struggle at one time, and...

    Today's a new day.

I found my younger sister's old Petworx 10L 22cm cube tank in the shed, hidden away in a cupboard. I am thinking of doing an aquarium with some easy, small plants, without any fish, but might add Australian chameleon (ninja) shrimp as an alternative to cherry shrimp since no fish stores in my...

What small plants can fit a Petworx 10L tank?

Picked up my younger sister's former Petworx 10L tank from the shed. It was originally a betta tank, but the tank was too small for him and the betta was moved into a 40L. The tank is a 22cm cube and has 18.5cm diameter of working space. The other 4cm is for the pump and filtration. I might do a...

    Today's a new day.

My school holiday day by day routine is: Wake up at 10 or 11am. Feed the fish (morning and evening). Spend most of the day on TFF. Do water changes if required. Spend time with family. Go bushwalking with mum or dad. Have dinner. Spend the rest of the night going on TFF. Go to sleep at 10 or...
