    Today's a new day.

I'm on Scape It and planning some tank aquascape designs. The tetras are resting now. I will see them tomorrow.

    Aviaries

What aviaries do you have? How big are the aviaries you're keeping? How do you clean the aviaries so I can learn more on how to look after them in the long term? What's your favourite aviary you have kept?

    Aviaries

What is the recommended aviary size you usually keep birds (i.e. finches and small parrots) outdoors in the backyard?

    Today's a new day.

The aquarium hobby is constantly changing day by day and I have done some research into hardscape and plants that go well with the vision of future aquascapes.

    Today's a new day.

Yes, it can be expensive quickly. That's why I'm saving all my money on the project. And I don't trust FB marketplace and Gumtree.

    Today's a new day.

There is no canister filter for the 90L in the Petworx kit.

    Today's a new day.

Went to the O'Connor LFS and priced the project out. I found a really good piece of driftwood and it fits perfectly into the tank and stands up properly. Haven't brought any stuff yet and the stuff is tucked away in a box for me. The 45cm cube tank itself cost $285 The Exo Terra cabinet that...

    Today's a new day.

The 92 x 36 x 42cm Aqua One Horizon tank will be done in the future. I just now need to move the remaining cardinals into the 90L 45cm cube away from the silvertips. It can be expensive but it is what it is. I was originally going for the 92cm long tank, but since I am liking with cube tanks...

    Today's a new day.

Today's Monday. Fed the tetras and currently doing more research on the stuff that are required on TOTM contests. More research equals higher chance of winning. I am a happy person nowadays. Research will take a while to do but it's always needed when doing tanks of different sizes.

    Today's a new day.

Prepping for June's TOTM as @Fishmanic allowed me to enter the Petworx 10.6L tank. I noticed that September 2023's TOTM winner was a 12 litre aquarium, but I can go slightly smaller than that. But first, more research! Priced out the project on a notebook (it is a bit above $160 in total)...

    Today's a new day.

The tetras are resting now. Spent time with family to watch the Australian Open final. Currently doing my research on cube tanks now.

    Oak trees

I don't know. I was discussing about garden aviaries along with oak trees to Colin.

    Today's a new day.

Found an old 100 Facts book hidden away in the shed and the 'Endangered Animals' book mentions the rarest freshwater fish in the United States, the Devils Hole pupfish. It used to be a vulnerable species, it is now Critically Endangered according to the IUCN Red List.

    Today's a new day.

Oh, and @Fishmanic, is it okay to get aquaria from Amazon.com.au and enter them later this year or next year? Will there be a TOTM where two of a user's aquaria can be entered because I like the idea of entering two tanks instead of one? I like entering one tank, but I think two should be...

    Oak trees

I like orchids now. They're unique. Do you watch Gardening Australia on TV? I don't watch gardening shows very often, but they are a source of inspiration of gardens. What did your garden look like before the bad situations happen? I'd love to come to your garden, it would've been beautiful and...

    Today's a new day.

The forum has been helpful in the last couple of days. I understand that there are things that must be followed. I want to thank the following people for their contribution: @Colin_T, thanks for everything you have done for the forum. I will use the 2L ice cream bucket method you mentioned to...

Tales of a 17 year old

As a 17 year old, and a Year 12 student, my history of the world of fishkeeping is growing. I am following the right direction about advice you guys gave me over time in my day-by-day diary thread. Hobbies come and go, but the fishkeeping hobby won't be broken or moved on like the others, such...

    Today's a new day.

I have a deadline until June to make the 10.6L aquascape with shrimp project. It may take a while, but I will do it eventually. Researching some stuff. The 10.6L is from my younger sister because she brought it originally for her betta; and she allowed me to use the tank for me after I asked her...

    Today's a new day.

Also, I am going to build a collection of Petworx nano all in one kits and cubes without internal filtration tanks one day. The biggest one in the Petworx collection is 90L and the smallest, one of the two Petworx tanks I have currently, is 10.6L. I may also get a HIRO Aquatics 20cm 7L cube tank...

    Today's a new day.

Hi @Fishmanic, welcome to the thread as you replied much earlier. :) I know that the smallest TOTM winner was a 12 litre aquarium, but I can go smaller than that, right? I can enter the Petworx 22cm cube 10.6L tank with chameleon shrimp and try to win TOTM in June, once it's completed, and...

    Today's a new day.

I am constantly researching good cube tanks (excluding Petworx cubic tanks, which I like the most) on different websites and seeing which ones are good for aquascaping and freshwater and/or saltwater use and which ones are not. I like cube tanks because they are suitable for me and mostly easier...

    Today's a new day.

Today's Sunday. About to feed the tetras and still waiting for good advice. The 2.1 gallon cube without animal inhabitants could be part of my future cube tank collection, but Amazon would have to be really careful when delivering it to my house. Shipping can take days or weeks due to it being a...

    Today's a new day.

Watched some cube aquarium aquascapes on YouTube to gain inspiration. Everything's okay at the moment. The tetras are resting now and I'm doing more research on the realm of proper aquascaping with plants and hardscape. @GaryE and @Essjay, I wanted to ask a question about tanks I found on...

out of time. Mum at end stage.

Are your fish okay, @AdoraBelle Dearheart? I just wanted to check on your fish and seeing they're doing allright at the moment.
  25. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Looking up Amazon.com.au fish tanks, most of them are 1 or 2 gallons. I can do an aquascape without putting fish, shrimp or snails in, just a small plant-only aquarium. I found two good candidates for a really small aquascape, a 1 gallon cube from Lifegard Aquatics and a 2.1 gallon cube and a...

    Today's a new day.

Patiently waiting for the cube tank collection to begin... It will take a while for the collection to begin. I am behaving more appropriately than last night. Things are different lately.
  27. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

I only carry cube tanks when they are empty and ready to be set up. Cubes are easier for me because despite there will be a limited choice of fish, shrimp and some fish will thrive in them.
  28. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Yeah, but cube is easier to carry for me, unless the cube is really big, and rectangular would require two people to carry it.
  29. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

I am planning to collect all the Petworx cube aquariums (all in one kits and tanks without filtration and clamp lamps) after the 10.6L tank is done. One of the starfire aquaria are a 40cm cube. I just need the lighting and filtration to do those tanks. I like cube aquaria compared to rectangular...

    Today's a new day.

It's the afternoon and everything's okay currently. I'm not ready for the 10.6L project just yet, but I will do it a few weeks later. Focusing on the good side of the hobby. I am a good person, not a bad person. Patience.

    Today's a new day.

It's Saturday. I am much less stressed than last night. I got up at 2:30am but gone back to sleep again. I am up at 9:40am. Focus, calm and motivation are all I need. I am also working on appropriateness too. Gary gave me some good motivation yesterday night. The best thing about teachers are...

    Today's a new day.

Thank you for some motivation. How long have you been a teacher? I am curious because you mentioned that before. Year 12 is my final year as a student and we're learning through. Sorry for getting up super early, I will go back to sleep again.
  33. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

I am fully calm now. I can focus on the good things now. Took probably an hour to calm down completely. I am afraid that bad things may happen to me again. Motivation is growing, people giving advice for me and mistakes made by myself. I want to be the best I can be, and as a student, I am...

    Today's a new day.

I'm a bit shy currently and trying to focus on the good things. It's okay to be shy and it may take a while to focus on the good things. Accepting advice from others and will focus on the shrimp tank, but first, focus on the current fish I have. Be kind to myself. Struggles happen every day...

    Today's a new day.

Being a good person is hard sometimes, but with great advice and motivation, it can be easier. I need to do some work on focusing on stuff. Motivation is what I'm lacking currently. Advice is all I need for now on. Recovering from stress from tonight. I understand the rules now. I'm trying to...

    Today's a new day.

I now understand peoples' advice on the thread. I understand that the hobby can get expensive at times, but I always save money on a project. Saving money is a good thing for me. I have some depressing moments regarding myself. I will try not to ruin my own thread. Advice is good and I am here...
  37. elephantnose3334

    Today's a new day.

Let's focus on the good things. Breathe in, breathe out. Calming myself down currently. As calm as a cucumber. Focus on fishkeeping, not the bad stuff... I make mistakes all the time, and it happens in the forum too. Some mistakes happen over time. I completely understand your advice now. Yes...

    Today's a new day.

Shifting away from the parents, and focusing exclusively on fishkeeping. Thanks @CaptainBarnicles and @GaryE for advice. I can get upset due to various reasons. I get upset because I do the wrong thing. Now let's focus on fishkeeping as per Gary's advice. I'm trying to be a good person...

    Today's a new day.

Oh, okay. This thread is a diary of myself, but not the whole forum. I have a problem with my family. Sorry about that @GaryE. I will not focus on the parents anymore. I will focus on what I like, fishkeeping.

    Today's a new day.

I understand that too. I'm only 17 and it can be difficult to abide some rules due to mental issues, but I'll eventually make it in the end. Sometimes I don't like the parents, but I will work on my attitude as well. Guess I'll have to deal with them for the last year of school...
