My water is pretty soft in my area and wanted to prepare the tank for Rainbow Fish. To harden my water I was going to add crushed coral substrate in my filter. Has anyone had success doing this?

Found my water stats from the water site. Looks like I have very soft water. Total Hardness (as CaCO3) 90 - 222 mg/L 5 to 13 grains per gallon. What is the best substrate to promote harder water? I can fill my empty filter baskets with this.

My tank is fairly new and its a 30G Tall.. I recenlty took alot of the decor out to replace it... Today i fianally bought more stuff the tank is pretty much packed wiht places to hide and plants.. BTW he is the only Gouramis in the tank.

My Blue Gouramis Stresses out alot of my tetra's and molly's in the tank.. He always chsagin after them and trying to nip them.. Should i get rid of him? Or are they jsut playing?

Nope i think they just died from stress or not eating... I did have a white spot problem in the tank though but they didnt have spots

Well u have had 3 of them and 2 died from what?? i dont know.. Anyway my last one left NEVER COMES OUT of his hole some times i catch him late at night but if i walk anywhere near the tank hes bank in for another couple hours.. Poor guy doesnt even come out to eat when i feed... What do i do...

One of my bigger fish have alot of ich on them really noticable white spots.. I know it spreads fast and i realized that maybe 5 more of the fish have really really small spots 1 or 2 and u need to look really close to even see it.. Should i jsut treat the guy who has it really bad or treat...

Thank you for all your reply's guys it really is helping me alot.. As for the snale question I dont have any in my tank at the monent. I think it may be a good idea to try to go out and buy frozen brine fish. Hopefully it will work. I also have a moonlight but i havent seen them come out...

Got 2 new clown loaches 2 days ago havent seen them come out of their lil hiding spots and eat .. Are they gonna die?? =0( i hope not.. What should i do?

Well I just took a green cold cathode out of my computer case and rigged it to the tank looks AWSOME!! Check it BTW im using 9V seems to be perfect hopefully wont keep the fish up and clowns come out!!! :hyper: :shout: Tell me what you guys think.

9 out of a 10 Really nice only thing i dont like is the fakeness of hte plants couple of them look really fake.. If they are you should try to throw some real ones in would make it a 10!! :good:
