I have no idea how to explain it but this is what the floor looks like in another room upstairs. The tank is sitting the opposite way to the floorboards.

    Weight

Does anyone else have 200l+ tanks upstairs? I'm obviously not going to move it for quite some time (10+ years), will this be a problem? My house was built in the 1930s if this matters. I have a 200l tank in my room, quite worried it will either go through the ceiling or fall towards. I just...

    Guppy acting odd?

I feed them 3 different foods as well as bloodworms everyday. I have no clue how he could be stressed, the water parameters are all normal... Hes not really hiding from the others, he does join them a lot of the time. Does he just want his own space? His tail does seem to hang down quite a bit.

    Guppy acting odd?

Thank you, he does seem to have his tail down quite a bit? He also doesn't swim too much. Usually stays at the top away from the others.

    Guppy acting odd?

One of my guppies seems to have distanced himself from the others about two weeks ago. I didn't really think anything of it, but hes always in one corner, in his own little world. He is still eating and looks healthy?

    Fat guppy?

I euthanized him when I posted the comment. He looked like a little koi fish!
  9. ella777

    Fat guppy?

I have absolutely no clue what's happened now, I think it may have been dropsy as hes rapidly gone downhill. He isn't as fat now but his eyes are bulging and his scales look a little yellow. I've put him in a separate tub as hes dragging along everything, the filters are blowing him around etc...

    Gallons?

I only said that because someone said "I don't think we get many tanks with these 'thin, short' proportions in the UK. You are probably used to 90cm tanks having bigger dimensions." But thank you!
  11. ella777

    Gallons?

I'm in the UK, my tank is 100x40cm. In my head it didn't really make sense if the tank is only 90 litres when mine is 180-200 litres.
  12. ella777

    Gallons?

Sorry, it makes more sense now.

Half Banded Spiny Eel hungry all the time?

He is healthy but thank you.

Half Banded Spiny Eel hungry all the time?

As far as I know, he isnt skinny at all. According to a false eel person on here, hes very healthy. I've actually never seen his poo so I have no clue. I have never ever seen him poo before. I honestly dont think he would take shrimp/prawns. He seems to be a very picky eater.

    Gallons?

90 litres? Wouldn't it be more like 200?

Half Banded Spiny Eel hungry all the time?

Forgot to say, I haven't had him for that long, I've had him since October 2022. I didn't used to do this, he started about 2-3 months ago.

Half Banded Spiny Eel hungry all the time?

He is 5-6 years old and has been fed frozen bloodworms his whole life. I've tried feeding him daphnia but he refused to eat it, I also can't find brine shrimp anywhere. I feed him half a block each day meaning he gets 3½ blocks a week. He is apparently very healthy so I'm not too worried. The...

    Gallons?

Thank you, I'm in the UK so I was confused what size tank I have.

    Fat guppy?

    Okay, thank you!
  20. ella777

    Gallons?

I'm really confused. Do people use US or imperial gallons when it comes to tanks??

    Fat guppy?

He still isn't back to normal!
  22. ella777

    Fat guppy?

I know, but hes only been like this since yesterday. He usually doesnt eat much and is never that fat..
  23. ella777

    Fat guppy?

He doesn't usually look like this though. He also looks fatter than the ones you showed. He also hasnt done a poo for at least a day.
  24. ella777

    Fat guppy?

Really? I think he looks very fat compared to the others. He's usually a lot thinner. Should I continue feeding them the same diet? This is him compared to a normally sized one.

    Fat guppy?

I would, but the eel only eats bloodworms. He needs to have them everyday otherwise hes really grumpy...

    Fat guppy?

It was sudden though, he doesn't usually look like this. I bought him from a pet shop that definitely doesn't care about how they look. Are you sure he isn't fat? I just took these now.

    Fat guppy?

So should I only feed them bloodworms everyday instead of the pellets and flakes?
  32. ella777

    Fat guppy?

Thank you, but only one fish is like this. I only feed them once a day. He hasn't lost any weight overnight. Should I only feed the tank bloodworms instead of the flakes and pellets? They much prefer the bloodworms.
  33. ella777

    Fat guppy?

I've now put him in a breeder net thing and given him some peas. He's already taken a few bites of the peas and I've fed the others normally. He hasn't lost any weight so I think he probably has constipation. I feed my eel everyday, he still seems hungry on some days so I feed him a little...

I'll definitely keep an eye on him. It was very sudden as it only happened today.
  37. ella777

    Fat guppy?

The first photo is the fatter one, the second is a normal size.
  38. ella777

    Fat guppy?

He's swimming, acting and eating normally. His scales look completely fine too. They're all resting now and won't wake up for a while. Should I separate him tomorrow or now? I don't want to stress him out in any way.
  39. ella777

    Fat guppy?

He isn't a very aggressive eater though. The other guppies are much more confident with food so I'm not sure this is it. They are usually quite fat after eating but it goes down after an hour or so. He's been like this all day.
  40. ella777

    Fat guppy?

Could he possibly be normal in the morning? I've only noticed him like this today. I don't really understand how the issue could be too much protein as they have been fed this diet for months with no problems, and all the other fish are fine.
