    Plant Eaters

I always thought it was my platys destroying my plants as they were always picking at them, but it seems they were just nibbling bits of algae etc off the leaves, it was nasty little pond snails doing all the destroying. Since I put a few assassin snails in, I have noticed a significant...

Ich/fungus In A Tank With Snails.

Got home from work to find two of my neons dead :(bI dont think its tetra disease, so I popped a dose of protozin in. Aquarium salt is a good all round tonic and strress reducer. i always keep a small quantity in my tank (for all the good its done this time lol). Just keep in mind salt doesnt...

Ich/fungus In A Tank With Snails.

I have nowhere to remove them to, I think if things are not looking up by tomorrow I may risk the protozin.

Ich/fungus In A Tank With Snails.

:) I didnt realise you could use protozin with assassins. I have some protozin here. I crushed a garlic clove and soaked it for a while, then finely chopped it and mixed some of it with a couple of chopped peas. My fish loved it.

Ich/fungus In A Tank With Snails.

Sarcasm or truth? :) I've read around that garlic can be helpful with immune system and stress, as well as an appetite stimulant.

Ich/fungus In A Tank With Snails.

I have a 125ltr tank. 2 of my neon tetras are showing what appears to be ich or fungus - small but visible fluffiness on their backs. I forst noticed this a few days ago. I gradually increased the temp to 84/29 and added 6 teaspoons of aq salt yesterday. I normally do around 10ltr changes 2 - 3...

Transferring Fish To New Tank - Advice Needed (Stocking)

Hi the_lock_man, thanks for replying Thats correct, it is to replace the 64l - whether I keep the 64l for future setup I dont know, but there are no immediate plans to keep any fish in there once the current community have moved. So I dont think there is any space in the new filter to squash...

Transferring Fish To New Tank - Advice Needed (Stocking)

Hi all, I have a Fluval Roma 125l set up and doing a seeded cycle. I have a Fluva U3 filter and a 4 inch airstone. It is also planted with live plants. Is it possible to transfer my fish faster from my 64l tank if I throw the matured filter in there for a while? (its the filter that comes with...

    Hi Everyone.

Thanks for the welcome and advice guys. I do have an oversize filter which will help to some degree with the waste, but I'll still keep a close eye on things. I'll try and take a pic of my tank soon.

    Hi Everyone.

Hi guys. I originally had 6 neons and 6 cherry barbs, but I lost 4 neons and 2 barbs, plus I also lost 2 female guppies and 1 gold platy. Not all at once obviously, and some fish replaced ones that died, so it was a slow stocking process, not all at once. I didnt realise the pleco was...

    Hi Everyone.

Hi all. New to the forum. I have a 64ltr fishbox which has been set up for a couple of months. I have collected tropical freshwater since childhood, but have spent the last 10 years without any fish, so I decided to start small while I get my confidence up and my knowledge back. I didnt do a...
