I bought a dwarf gourami today and he has been swimming at the bottom of the tank the whole day. I heard that they should be spending all their time at the top of the tank.. Any ideas on what’s wrong?

They look pregnant to me. Looks like they have a gravid spot... I would check with someone more experienced.

I suggest looking at Aquadvisor.com. It will tell you the stocking levels along with the filtration capacity.

The tank is just a regular 55 gallon from Walmart. Ph is a little over 7 The tank has been cycling for a month and a half and is ready for fish.
