Outstanding tank. You MUST enter that tank in our November Tank of the Month contest which will feature tanks sized at 31 gallons and larger.

One plus is it's only a 5 gallon aquarium and is not too expensive. Replacement of the tank is the best option.

A beach near me has a yearly sand sculpture competition with some competitors coming from far away countries. One of the competitors flew in from Poland and another came from Japan. This was my favorite sand sculpture. This talented lady came from Canada to showcase her sand sculpting skills.

I used pool filter sand in my 29 gallon tank. It is white colored ... some prefer a darker substrate. BUT...the big plus is that it is very easy to rinse..very little dust or debris. If you're going to have lots of decor...wood, ornaments and plants...much of the substrate area will be...

The only snails I like are zebra nerite snails. They devour algae and look nice too. I just got 2 of them for my Betta 5 gallon tank. The good thing is that they wont breed unless you have brackish water.
